This listing is for a large original pink depression glass float bowl with insert frog and fish decorative centrepiece. C1930's. It is possible this was produced by Walther and Sohne or alternatively another reputable European glass producer. It should not be confused with smaller similar versions. The bowl and inserts are in excellent undamaged condition. The bowl and frog insert are finished in clear glass whilst the fish centrepiece ... moreis finished in frosted glass. The float bowl and frog have a few typical bubble and fine lines embedded in the old glass. The rim of the float bowl is waved with six equally spaced crests. A set of five reeded ribs extends from each crest to the base on the outer wall of the bowl. The bowl has an integrated low footed base. The inner base of the bowl has a raised circular ridge into which the frog fits. The circular frog has 12 equally spaced perimeter holes and a raised central rim with deep integrated seat into which the centrepiece fits. The fish centrepiece is a single moulded piece of frosted glass and is undamaged(including the base seat post which is less common) Bowl dimension are diameter 29cm(upper rim) and 15cm(footed base) height 7.5cm(sidewall of float bowl) and 22cm(with fish centrepiece fitted) The frog has a diameter of 14.2cm and when fitted sits lower than the sidewalls of the float bowl. The centrepiece fish is 16 cm in height when fitted. Unpacked weight is 2.4kg. Vintage aquamarine Japanese Fish Float with net and marks, 37" circumference
This is a large 12" double FF Japanese Glass Fishing Float with mark and wormhole. I understand this mark was used by the Hokuyo Glass Company of Aomori Japan. Japanese fishermen in the Marshall Islands would sell the floats to Americans working in the area. The float dates from at least the 50s and is probably older. It has been in the hands of the man who purchased it while working on Kwajalein in the early 60s. A piece of the fishing twine is still attached. There are a few bubbles in the float as you would expect with hand-blown glass. Otherwise. No damage of any kind is noted.

PLEASE LOOK AT ALL THE PICTURES SHOWN! THEY ARE THERE FOR YOUR INFORMATION ABOUT CONDITION AND APPEARANCE! This is a 24 inch long x 3+1/2 inch x 3+1/2 inch reproduction lobster or crab buoy. The main body is about 12 inches long and the 3/4 inch x 3/4 inch flag pole or marker pole is another 11-13 inches(varies) Each buoys base has a leather strap attached with copper nails for easy hanging for years to come! This was critical for this is where the rope attached the buoy to the pot. Most old buoys were made with this leather strap and we wanted to make them like they did years ago. We also have branded this buoy with numbers so it is like the old ones also. Its takes a little extra money. Time and care but we like to make USA quality products! We love to combine these for shipping! Our lobster or crab buoys are created with salvaged lumber ... moreand or beachcombed wood we find after winter and spring storms that have washed lumber and other wood debris onto the beaches. We also use reclaimed wood that was destined for the landfill. We did sand all the edges to make sure there were no bad slivers or ruff spots and to give it that worn look. The newly cut ends have been painted and sanded to give them a matching worn look like the rest of the wood buoy. It can be hung by the leather loop that is installed on the buoy. We used copper nails so it will hang for years without rusting the nails. It also can be rested against a wall on a shelf or you could screw these to the wall or post also. Some of the wood is cracked. Warped and worn from salt water and sand blowing on it. We pull all nails out unless pictured otherwise. You are bidding on this exact buoy in the picture. Each buoy we make is a little different because of wood condition. Type or color. This buoy would be a great addition to a collection or used for that fishermens nautical decor! LARGE VINTAGE GREEN FISH FLOAT BALL 12" TALL
Welcome! Today we are offering a great antique green fishing float ball. Large size measuring about 12" tall and 37" around. Appears to be hand blown, there is a glass pontil at the bottom. The rope still remains around the ball. There are no cracks. There are areas of a crusty white that is somewhat rough to the touch, which I assume is from being used in salt water. If you don't like the weathered look it will need to be cleaned. I did manage to scrape a couple pieces off with my fingernail, but I didn't otherwise try to clean it. This is a cool old 7” green glass fishing net float ball. It has a rough pontil on one side and an indistinct(not molded) linear thickness. About 4” long on the opposite side. There are no distinctive ID markings that I can find. There are some odd white deposit marks on the inside. See last photo. The center flash-like spot, is the sun reflection. The other white areas are there… They are not as shocking white or opaque as the photo shoes… They look more like frosted glass. The rest of the glass is very clear and in great condition. There's a 2" button with the"Double F" symbol which was used by the Hokuyo Glass Company of Aomori Japan. Who stopped making them at some point in the 70's. Each cork float measures 4 inch- 4+1/2 inches wide and 2 inches- 2+1/2 inches thick. Each has a hole through the float for stringing it up or tying it to a net. Each float could have a little wax left on it. They did this to water proof them better. We have washed these in a bleach& water solution. Then rinsed them with fresh water and then dried them. They would look great hanging on a porch, fence, or a room with a nautical or maritime theme. Each is in good used condition. Each would be a great addition to a collection ... moreof floats or maritime items! We find very few of these any more. They are getting very hard to find. 45 X 16 BEACHCOMBED TAN NO KNOT ALASKAN SEINE FISHING FISH NET FLOAT (#NO5)
This is a 45' x 16' piece of light guage fishing net we beachcombed on the Washington coast(4-10-10) The diamond pattern measures about 2" squares and the tan/ gray. No knot, machine made cord the netting is made with is about 1/16" wide. It is in used condition and is not like the new stuff everyone is selling. This is a really ugly piece and has lots of holes, tears, fading of color, and patches but only adds to the authenticity of the netting! Remember that this stuff probably caught Salmon or some other fish at one time. Lucky for us it broke loose from its floats and wash up on the beach! There is a musty smell or ocean smell from the netting being in the salt water but can be easily washed in a sink of soap or detergent. Gets rid of the smell all together! We have washed the seaweed and sand from this netting but have ... morenot used soap. It would look great in a room with a nautical theme, poolside, porch, or for decoration of your choice. Antique Japanese Glass Fish Net Float - LIGHT Green - Large, Unusual Makers Mark
This is a vintage Japanese Large Green Glass Fish Float. The fish float measures a little over 36" circumference. The float has a large pontil mark and a makers mark. The makers mark is a smiley face. I haven't seen any other marks similar to this one. Antique Japanese Glass Fish Net Float - Dark Green - Large
This is a quite heavy authentic Japanese fishing float. We purchased it in Nairobi in the mid-70s from a friend who bought them from locals who collected them floating in the Indian Ocean or washed up on the beach. Many were washed into the rocky areas and didn't survive.By the time we left Kenya in the late 70s. The only floats available were plastic. The rope is slightly broken as per the photographs. It is approximately 13" in diameter.

Vintage Antique Japanese hand blown fish net ball float.found on the beach in Alaska. Pretty good size 3-3.5 inches Weight is approx 6.7 ounces. Nice smokey Aqua blue or green color. I have 6 total. But they are listed individually. each one is carefully wrapped and shipped in a box priority mail to you. i originally had these floating in my outdoor goldfish pond and brought them in and had them in a large bowl as shown with floating flowers. the pond lillies are beautiful with them. Not signed as far as I can tell. 2 are signed as shown in the pictures- i will designate which ones are. some have the lines of the original fish netting and one has some cloudiness from laying on the beach. please ask any questions. good luck. i have loved and cherished these for quite some time.
