c1921 National Sportman Magazine Cover Fisherman Caught Lantern Slide
This is a glass magic lantern slide. Beautifully colored, showning a fly fisherman who has caught himself on tree while attempting to net his catch, c.1921. It is from a National Sportsman magazine from about 1921. This magazine existed as early as 1826. Covering hunting, fishing, camping, trapping, other manly sports, NATIONAL SPORTSMAN had some fine covers. Apparently published as NEW ENGLAND SPORTSMAN, out of Boston, Massachusetts, until changing its name and focus in 1900. Or, possibly published from 1899 in Illinois, then changing again.
