I'm having trouble identifying this but have been told it may be salmon. Real skin mount. From end of tail to tip of mouth, it's approximately 33" long. Measuring HALF of the body, he has a girth of 16" plump little guy! This comes with the lure you see hanging from his mouth BUT it is easily removable in case you wanted to place your own lure there. I'm sue a taxidermist could remove this from the large mounting board and re-mount this to a more modern look, if you like. There is thin cracking on the bottom(see photo) doesn't seem to be a major issue. Mounted on a wood(pine? board that measures 36" across. Hanging hardware attached. Taxidermy Mount Fish Walleye Lake Erie Record Cabin Decor 11.5 Lbs 30" Monster
This is a mounted Walleye Caught in 1980 and was a record fish caught from Lake Erie on 7/20/1980. This monster measured 30 inches long and was 11 1/2 lbs. The back tail fin and the side and dorsal fins need attention. I have side fin complete for repair(look at pics) but other than that in great condition considering the age. I have the trophy and newspaper article somewhere so i will do my best to locate. This was caught on an Erie Dearie(red and white) when Lake Erie Walleye fishing was at its best. This looks like what appears to be an old mounted fish. It is about 22" long and looks alot like a rainbow trout. Possibly hand painted. Does have a few cracks in the finish but doesn't take away from the awesomeness it displays. Loaded with patina and character. Needs to be lightly cleaned up which I will let the new owner do this. NOTE: there.are no"epidermis defects" on this Barracuda! It's only my amateurish photography and the lighting that I chose. WOW! A Barracuda! The FIERCEST fish in the Sea. If you can still remain mean-looking after spending 10 years in s dusty. Texas country barn, a BARRACUDA can. Of indeterminate age, this mount was well done. It's in the need of some cleaning and a bit of minor restoration, or not. If I was to finally bring it in and display it, as planned, I'd just clean it a little and let it go at that. It's solid, no obtrusive defects. The BARRACUDA exhibits the wear and tear one would expect of a Vintage Fish. The STURDY attachment constructed by the Taxidermist for a hanging display proves to be an excellent way to show off the fish without the distraction of a board mounting. Barry, the obvious nick-name, ... morewould be 36" Long if stretched out and 30" Long in its graceful curve. The Fins are tough and continue to exist 98% intact. The coloration is authentic to the species; no"phony" looking enhancements. The dreaded BARRACUDA teeth are the real deal; 95% remain sharp and ready to bite! The body(not including any fin) of the fish is about 5" High. The front dorsal fin is 2" High. The second upper fin, if straightened a bit, would be about 2 3/4" The dreaded EYE of the beast is 1" in diameter. Appearing a little cleaner, he" would be fit for any self-respecting Trophy wall! I really tried to provide plenty of pictures to answer any questions you might have I really don't know much about this item for sure.However I assumed by the stitching in the back that it was real skin. It is a little bit beat up as you can see by the tears in the dorsal fin and some of the stuffing showing on spots on the body I don't know if these things can be restored easily or its okay the way it is. but would be great for your cabin, and I'm not asking you huge price so you can decorate your cabin without breaking the bank. Vintage Largemouth bass mount taxidermy real skin 22.5" long on wood plaque
Vintage large mouth bass taxidermy mount. It is about 22.5" in length. I think it was made in the 1970s or earlier. I bought it at an estate sale. I am farily certain it is real skin. It measures about 12" from the dorsal fin to the bottom of its body. It was a large fish. The mouth is about 4.5" open height. I tried to clean it with some compressed air and some used dryer sheets to get the significant amount of dust off. I was not overly successful. It has flared gills. The biggest flaws are the fins that are bent in some spots and possibly have pieces missing. The worst are the right pectoral fin and the bottom tail fin. There is only an eye on one side. I am sure it was supposed to be like that. The back has some filler where it was put together. Again I think it was made that way because that side wasn't supposed to ... morebe seen. I will try to pack as carefully as possible to keep from damaging the fins any further. The wood that it was mounted on is not of high quality and there are only a few screws holding it on. Description Northern Fish Mount Real Skin Taxidermy Mount Measures around 35" I tend to underestimate. So there is no dissapointment! This mount was a part of an estate purchased in WI. I don't know if the fish was actually caught in WI. But I would venture to guess so. It is a fixer upper. The biggest flaw is the tail fin has a tear. It appears someone attempted to repair the tear. And had no luck. The other fins have some damage also, I took close pictures of each fin to show any damage. Also there is one spot on his back where a scale flaked off leaving a bare spot. Along the jaw line there is a damaged area as well. Please look through the pictures carefully so you are able to determine if this fish is for you! He will be carefully packaged. The glare on the finish makes it look as though parts have been scuffed. this is glare only, nothing more, the color is there and is fine, see other pics to verify: Hello! This blue marlin is approximately 12 feet long. And in it's current posture, from the tip of the top fin to the bottom of the tail, it's about 5 feet vertical. Friends of mine caught this years ago and paid $2400 to have this fiberglass mount of it made. They are now retiring and planning on traveling the US in an RV as well as abroad, and are clearing out their life long treasures that are too big to take with them(like this beautiful fish) Thus this fish has only been with it's original owner and catcher(he also caught it) lol: I asked if I could try and sell this for them, and they are letting me: It's got some dust ... moreon it from being in storage, but is otherwise in gorgeous condition for a several years' old fish. I would have wiped it down myself, but wasn't sure the best solution to use, so I left it at that. Please see pics. The only thing I could find worth mentioning is that a single tip of the upper fins' about 1/4 inch worth, as in literally a small hair of a tip) needs to be touched some how. Otherwise I can't find anything worth mentioning. I guesstimate it weighs about 70 pounds or less as I lifted it slightly with their help off it's back bracket, but I didn't want to remove it from the wall to have it officially weighed. It has two mounting brackets in it's plain back side. Free local pick up in the North Texas. Dallas Fort Worth area. MONSTER Walleye Skin Mount Vintage Taxidermy Fish 30+ ClubTrophy Fishing Lure NR
Here is one huge walleye mount. The tag says it was 31 and 1/2 inches. I laid a tape in the V of the tail and measured 30 inches to the bottom lip. So this was well over that live. This was very well done and still looks great after 25 years. The tag did not say where this came from. I am pretty sure it was from Lake Erie. I am pleased to offer this amazing sailfish mount for auction. It measures approx 86" or 7' 2" and is approx 32" tall including the sail. I am not sure if it is considered a half mount or not. The other half of the body is there. Just not painted. There is a bracket that holds the fish on the wall. It was caught in the Bahamas years ago.
