A nice vintage unit. Its been in storage for many years and is a bit dusty. I've given it a quick wipedown but you'll want to give it a bit more detailing. Battery compartment is clean with no signs of leakage. Directions say it requires two 6v batteries. This runs on 12v. I've tested it and it powers on and spins up nicely. 1969 Vintage Vexilar Sound Off Sonar Fish, Depth Finder, Rare Collectible
This is a vintage Vexilar Sound Off Sonar. Made in 1969. This was the very first actual SONAR device of its kind. At this time it was the first and only one with sound. It beeps when if blips and thus frees you from constantly watching the dial. This is the feature that gives SOUND OFF SONAR its name. The unit comes with the original owner’s manual. The Vexilar Blip Board. It’s the one with the chain attatched to it. It is stained and has a tear about 3 inches in it. Also comes with the green, Dear Fisherman card, and the Care and Maintenance card. The unit can run off either 8 C batteries or a 12V marine battery. Lowrance 2560 Sonar depth finder w/box
Lowrance 2560 was the second great Lowrance sonar for recreational fishermen. After their famous'green-box' unit. I had 2 of these, and unfortunately used the one from this box, so it is not new. All the component parts are new(bracket, knobs, tranducer, wiring) except for the unit itself. It was used to catch thousands of walleyes, and a few other species. So. I could say it was a big fish that took the small chunk of plastic out of it as in the photo, but it was actually from an ice fishing trip where it got clipped. This unit works great for ice fishing, which we do alot of here in MN where winter lasts for many months. I used this until I sold my boat last year. It works far better than a graph when running wide open- it gives a current depth reading. The unit works great. Bid with confidence on this classic Lowrance sonar.

I believe the model of transducer that comes with it originally is a THS-1192-20 Transducer which I will include the instruction booklet in the package. It does come with one of the wires, it's the red one and it comes with two gator clips attached to it.
