There is a new 12 ft. loop of Ampex 457 master tape and the white felt is new. It has a great sound with no scratchy pots. It has an few small nicks and wear spots on it and a chip off the rubber type coating on the rounded upper left corner of the housing, see the picture with the pick) The overall appearance is very nice outside and very clean under the lid. They secured it extremely tight with cable ties. Therefore I had to cut the wires of the transducer when I uninstalled it from the boat. Roland RE-150 Space Echo- Tape Echo Refurbished by seller to 100% perfect working order. It is very rare to see one of these without excuses. This unit has been repaired and calibrated to factory new operating condition. Please read below. I received this unit completely dead; no sound. No knobs, no feet, no cover latches, all cabinet screws missing and a badly scratched front panel. But, after basic cleaning I found virtually zero head wear and a motor that was so smooth it was inaudible. As a result, it got a ground-up refurb. The electronics have been restored to factory new condition or better. All the missing hardware was replaced with stainless or black oxide metric parts. It cost money and time. The knobs are not perfect buy they're pretty damn close. The front panel and outer cabinet are as I found them but cleaned. The electronics ... morerepair required replacement of a few components and lots of wiring. I used 1% metal film resistors and solid tantalum capacitors and Mogami shielded wire to replace the original unshielded panel-to-PCB wiring. All the original controls were cleaned with Cramoline Gold. I have complete factory service docs. Know what I'm doing, and did it correctly. There are NO mods- it is exactly as Roland intended. actually a bit better) This is the quietest, smoothest running RE I have ever refurbished. All electronics- every input and output- are flawless, smooth and silent; a complete pleasure to use. All my work is tested and calibrated on the bench with meters and oscilloscope. Then checked in the real world. When I finished in my shop, I plugged it into my Marshall, put my Strat into channel 3 and turned it up until I heard the faintest tape hiss from my amp. When I played, it was gloriously, surprisingly loud! Once I reset gains by the RE's meter and ear, my amp was dead silent. No tape hiss, no flutter; just gorgeous tape echo. Serial# 211069] I have here an extremely rare Roland RE-100 Space Echo. One of the earliest tape echoes made by Roland. And a direct precursor to the popular RE-101 and RE-201 series. CONDITION In a very nice cosmetic condition. T here are some minor wear marks here and there. With light spot marks on top and scratches on the cable lid on back, but nothing major. Unbelievable condition for a unit more than 40 years old! Functionally the unit appears to be working fine. The effects working well on all the settings. I'm not sure how much use the tape on it has. It appears to sound fine but I would recommend you install a new tape one day as these usually get worn. The VU meter. Back light, and the peak light all working fine. I'm including plenty of pictures so you can see exactly how it looks. This unit was made for the Japanese market ... morewhich runs on 100 volts. The USA market runs on 110 volts.
