1969 Vintage Vexilar Sound Off Sonar Fish, Depth Finder, Rare Collectible
This is a vintage Vexilar Sound Off Sonar. Made in 1969. This was the very first actual SONAR device of its kind. At this time it was the first and only one with sound. It beeps when if blips and thus frees you from constantly watching the dial. This is the feature that gives SOUND OFF SONAR its name. The unit comes with the original owner’s manual. The Vexilar Blip Board. It’s the one with the chain attatched to it. It is stained and has a tear about 3 inches in it. Also comes with the green, Dear Fisherman card, and the Care and Maintenance card. The unit can run off either 8 C batteries or a 12V marine battery. The only noticeable flaws is some cracking in the cord. Check out my other items!

This Fish Finder Depth Sounder is in really good condition for being a vintage piece of equipment. However there is a few tiny scratches here and there but nothing that stands out. The transducer is missing. So it will not be included with the depth sounder. I believe the model of transducer that comes with it originally is a THS-1192-20 Transducer which I will include the instruction booklet in the package. It does come with one of the wires, it's the red one and it comes with two gator clips attached to it. All components store neatly in the case for transport. The transducer has a suction cup for mounting to the transom of a boat and has about 20ft. of cable. There are two power cords that can be attached: one is for two 9v batteries(which is how I tested) and another connectors for a small sealed battery ... moreor portable battery supply. The two 9v connectors are wired to supply 18v, so the sealed battery would be of that voltage, as well. In some of the photos you see the edge of a white piece of paper. This auction is for a portable Eagle Ultra ll fish locator in semi-working condition. Really I am selling as is since the screen seems to be very light and it's hard to see. It has some kind of problem in the center bottom that affects some of the menus. it comes with just the unit itself and two cords connectors that are connected to the back. One of them is the power cord and I wired as speaker wire to it to test. It powered up okay and seems to function correctly just the screen seems to be slightly screwed up. It also comes another cord that is very long and is used for sonar underwater I believe. It has the sonar piece on the end but no suction cup.
