OLDER model meant for a boat but i purchased a brand new ice transducer last year and used it as a buddy flasher to loan to my freinds so they would stop asking to use mine when we were fishing! My freinds have mostly all since bought their own so i no longer need this. This does not have the exact same features as the newer ice flashers but marks the same. There is some cossmetic wear and the lights seem to be a little dim. May just need brushes, i dont know. Like i said the unit still functions and is useable. 1969 Vintage Vexilar Sound Off Sonar Fish, Depth Finder, Rare Collectible
This is a vintage Vexilar Sound Off Sonar. Made in 1969. This was the very first actual SONAR device of its kind. At this time it was the first and only one with sound. It beeps when if blips and thus frees you from constantly watching the dial. This is the feature that gives SOUND OFF SONAR its name. The unit comes with the original owner’s manual. The Vexilar Blip Board. It’s the one with the chain attatched to it. It is stained and has a tear about 3 inches in it. Also comes with the green, Dear Fisherman card, and the Care and Maintenance card. The unit can run off either 8 C batteries or a 12V marine battery. Vexilar tranducer and bracket
I sold my boat. But not the mounting bracket, tranducer, and power chord. I used it with an Vexilar FL-8 and it worked great. I think it will work with all the Vexilar flashers. But you may want to do some research. This tranducer is the model that shoots through the fiberglass hull or can be mounted to the bottom of a trolling motor(using a large hose clamp) If shooting through the hull it mounts by gluing the tranducer to the bottom of the hull near the transom using an epoxy. Make sure there are no bubbles or air between the hull and the transducer and it will work great. It worked up to my boats top speed of 40mph. I really liked that I didn't have to drill any hole in the transom to mount it and I never worried about the transducer hitting rocks. I usually ship the same day or day after payment is made.
