This one has the orginal rope netting which is starting to get brittle due to age and the Texas heat! The float is in great collectible condition, no cracks or breaks, but the usual chips, nicks from years at sea. Lots of bubbles on this one. Custom made Sage GSH 3113lb centerpin / steelhead float fishing rod
Up for sale is my custom made Sage GSH 3113lb rod. Custom tied for a centerpin reel. I purchased this rod from an angler in British Columbia, and when I received it I found it is a little too much rod for the waters I fish in Ontario. This is considered to be the best float rod there is for steelhead and salmon fishing. It has a beautiful action– just enough power to handle the biggest fish you can throw at it, yet enough flex and sensitivity to fish light leaders for those finicky steelhead. It took me over 3 months to find someone willing to sell this rod, and as any steelheader will know they are very hard to come by. These blanks are no longer made, and the newer green CP blanks put out by Sage are not the same. This is the original brown Graphite III blank– the newer ones are built based on the 3113MB– which is heavier. Makes an excellent ... moresalmon rod, and can be used for steelhead as well. This rod is in mint condition, not a mark on it– the pictures speak for themselves. This is an estate sale find. It is a Vintage Cedar Lobster/ Crab trap fishing bouy float. It is well used but still a great old piece. It is light blue and a darker blue grey in color. It has a few cracks from use and age that add to the patina.The bouy iItself measures 12 inches long and the flag pin is approx 10.5 inches. The flag pin appears to have been replaced at some point in time as is removeable for the bouy. The bouy has the ID numers of MB39 embossed in to it. It has a rope loop at the bouy bottom. I found this odd round ball while looking for buttons and since i appreciate blown glass i purchased it because i thought it looked neat. I had never seen one.I thought it was something from the hippies era, like macrame. Now i realized after searching on the net to figure out what it is. That it is a fish net float and that some people collect these with passion. So i want to sell it. For sure making few dollars would be nice, but seriously i care more that it ends up in the hands of someone who will be thrilled to own it and can really appreciate it. I like it. but my thing is buttons: So i assume you will know the following if you are a collector: From the marking ... morethere is on the sort of glass plug. Which is a double FF, it apparently means"kita" which is japanese for"North" If what i read is correct. It is a marking from the Hokuyo Glass Company which was situated in Aomori Japan. The old man from which i purchased a scrabble game and this ball. Told me he had own it for over 40 years. Unfortunately the picture to show its translucence is very bad as it turns out looking more orangish and more opaque because the weather is very grey. It is more translucent and it is really LEMON YELLOW like the picture where we can see my hand. I packed it carefully in a solid plastic container. With bubble wrap and peanut foam chips. This float is the real thing found on a beach in Alaska. This float was found many years ago it has no Japanese fall out. Float is light blue in color. Has no seams, has a smooth surface, has some air bubbles and some lines in the glass(they are not cracks) This is a great float for any collector. Nice float. This is a Antique Very Large 38" Japanese Fishing Float Ball Wrapped in Rope.with wood base Very old green aqua blown glass with air bubbles in the glass. It has a rope knotted and wrapped around the ball. It is in great condition the rope is tight and not broken. The ball itself is not damaged in any way. In excellent condition all around. This very rare sausage is just over 4" long and 2 and 3/4" in diameter. It is bubbled and there is no maker's mark. There is a single chip off the sealing button. The float itself is clean and clear. A real gem. It was found in Japan. Shipping will be $7.00. Thank you.
