For your consideration is this set of 3 Handblown glass fish float balls. The blue/green one measures approx. 10 inches circumference- The blue 9 1/2 inches and the small amber colored one 7 inches. The amber ball is not a perfect sphere. There is a dimple on one side(kind of like a dent) this must have happened when the actual glass blowing was in process. Huge. Large European or Japanese Green Glass Vintage/Antique Fishing Float 38" Hello Collector, Thank you for stopping here to look at my auction. In this listing I have an antique European or Japanese Fishing Float. The Fishing Float is a very large one. The size of it is 38" circumference. The color is Emerald Green. It has a deep pushed in pontil on one side and the other a large dimple. There's a single mold line that runs through the center. This is all around the whole float. The condition is very very good. No chips. Cracks, or repairs. There are several tiny air bubbles trapped inside the walls of the glass and a little bit of a haze on the glass. Like I said it is a large one about the size of a beach ball. Thank you again for looking.

This is a nice large antique Japanese fishing float in aqua. I purchased several of these recently. None have netting attached. This float is 8 1/2" high, 9 1/4" wide, and about 30" in circumference. It has a definite mold line running around it, a sort of"flat spot" on the top, and a rough pontil area. No markings that I can find. The outer surface is rough, as it looks like"orange peel" This is not the light, thin wall type, it is a little heavier with thicker glass. This symbol is the word"kita" which means"North" It was used by the Hokuyo Glass Company of Aomori Japan. Supposably, this company stopped making floats in the late 70's. It appears to be a real authentic float and would have been used by fishermen in many parts of the world to keep their nets afloat. This is the famous"double FF" marked float. It is made of hand blown glass. This is a Japanese fishing float that was actually used and has spent its life at sea. It has been picked out of hundreds of beachcombed floats to offer because of its unique qualities and characteristics. Its thick heavy glass contains impurities. Inclusions and bubbles that are intrinsic to the Japanese manufacturing process. It is in good and sound condition with the normal wear one finds on fishing floats that have survived years in the ocean. The float is a beautiful pale green color. It has nice hand blown glass with a frosted look on the outside from sand etching occurs when a float ... morespends much time at sea being washed and etched from the sand. T his Authentic vintage glass fishing float was found on Hokkaido Island of northern Japan. GRAPEFRUIT SIZED FLOAT WITH YELLOWY GREEN SWIRLS. Measures 4" in diameter. WEIGHS OVER 500 GRAMS. No cracks or chips except those to the seal button as you would expect in a vintage float. I always photograph the floats against white in an attempt to get a clear picture and true a colour as possible. This item has some signs of wear like some paint that has come off and some surface scratching. The wood seems to be in good condition with no splitting. Only light separation with no cracking and the hook is still tightly secured in place at the tip of the bobber. see pictures) Would be a nice collectible for the avid fisherman.
