This green glass float has a 35" circumference including the rope net with a 11.14" diameter including the net. There are bubbles in the glass. No seams, no cracks and has a 3 1/2" button seal. The color and glass itself, it is likely to be of german orign. The seal is nice. But there are some chips on the backside-seal. Nice oliven color.

This float is completely and evenly frosted. The mark is frosted as well but still very readable as a WP# 2. This"Double F" mark is very common. It is a 5" float with thick glass and only a few isolated bubbles. One area shows many bubbles beneath the frosting. This purple glass ball is 5" in diameter with the letters L.T clearly in moulding on side. It was found on a beach in the far South East Bahamas and is secondary washout from hurricane Ike. My dog was under the washed out roots of a small tree with the ball when we found it it can be seen just to her left in first photo. The ball is an uneven heavy purple shade which is usual from sun exposure. All glass floats offered by my wife&myself have been found in the South East Bahamas while on our perpetual trip through the waters of time on our sloop. Have been preforming this action since 1970 without ever owning or living in ahouse. Needless to say over the coarse of the decades that have passed we have walked literally more then a thousand miles of shoreline with our dogs. The glass fishing floats we have found are mostly all Atlantic ... morewhich makes them considerably more rare then the Pacific ones. Since the advent of digital cameras we always take a picture of the glass floats on the beach where they were found before ever touching them. They range in age from the mid 1800s to the 1960sthrough 1970s. Some are light purple which I believe dates them around 1900 or before. The material that was used to clarify the glass at that time. When exposed to UV radiation(or prolonged sunlight) turns varying shades of purple. These balls will obviously be a bit more expensive then more recent ones. We also have a number of both green and brown three piece mould balls which gives them a rough date of a century or more. Also in our collection are a few deep sea pressure testing glass spheres which are fairly large and some weigh in at close to 50lbs. All of these balls are stored at my brother's land in Florida where we are visiting for the next month before sailing off again. Am fairly new at this eBay stuff but will respond quickly and as accurately as possible to any questions about individual balls. For sale is a small glass fishing float. These were used on fishing nets to keep them afloat. The float measures approximately 2 1/4 inches in diameter and is a green color. I believe it is hand blown due to the mark on the underside and the bubbles in the glass. The ball is flattened somewhat on one side and the hand blown mark is on the other. Large Glass Fishing Float in Green Pressed Glass 4 1/2 Diameter Ball
For sale is a very cool fishing float. These were used with nets to keep them afloat while fishing. This particular float measures approximately 4 1/2 inches in diameter and is made of green glass. There are glass seam marks on the sides. A flattened area on the bottom and a rough glass area on the other side that measures approximately 2 inches in diameter. When you shake the ball there is a rattling noise- when you look inside there is a small piece of glass rattling around in there. Up for auction is a 26" diameter antique Japanese Fishing Float. This is a handmade float. It has numerous bubbles in the glass. It looks very nice. Just shows light signs of wear. The previous owner's parents found this on the Washington state coast after a storm in the 1950's. Color is hard to define but's it's probably an aqua(blue/green) Weight is aprx. 3 lbs. 7 oz. 27 Lot of WOODEN NET FLOATS Salmon Fishing , Wood, Wooden, Float Buoy, Vintage
Sizes and condition vary a bit but all pretty nice and where all found by my grandfather whom was a comercial fisherman on the NW coast. I havent cut any open but am told that Native American tribes used these for keeping salman nets afloat and to support them and that they where made from Cedar and Spruce mostly. Up for sale is this Pair of Antique/Vintage Wooden Fishing Bobbers- Hand Made and Hand Painted. These bobbers measure approximately 5 5/8" tall and 1 1/2" wide. These items show some signs of wear like some paint that has come off in a few places and some surface scratching. The wood seems to be in good condition with no splitting. No separation and no cracking on one however the other does show some cracking at the tip and one crack travels up the base. This bobber has no eyelet but the other bobber has it's eyelet and it is still tightly secured in place at the tip. see pictures) Would be nice collectibles for the avid fisherman. Norwegian netted glass fishing float ball old style hemp & cork
This float is rigged in a unique way. It has a cork on each end of the float itself. Inside the net, with a cord attached on each end. I have no idea the reason behind this rigging, but it does make the float an interesting visual piece. The float is deep aqua, 5" with a very good mark. The glass float itself is in perfect condition.

Vintage Metal Fishing Buoy / Float with Two Lighthouses Embossed and Rope!
I found this vintage metal buoy. Which is 7 inches in diameter, with its original rope, on a beach in the Caribbean. This is a great example of a"working float" that is, one that was really used in the sea. This buoy has TWO clear, boldly stamped lighthouses embossed on it, in addition to some clear writing, including patent information. The writing also says“Made in Spain” and“La Coruna” This buoy comes with the rope pictured here, which is about 3 feet long, and which appears to be the original rope used with the float. This float is ready to hang in your office or in any corner of your home that you'd like to decorate! Little is known about this particular type of buoy—some think they are mooring buoys.
