It measures 82" tall when put together. Most of the thread wraps are intact. Some are loose and coming off, they can easily be re-wrapped. Some of the thread wraps are missing, you can tell by the different color on the bamboo. The bamboo is in great shape. No cracks or breaks at all. All the metal tips are nice and tight. The handle however is a little loose, not the cork, just the metal end at the bottom of the handle. None the less this is a BEAUTIFUL vintage rod in great shape. Hardy Split Cane Three Piece Fly Fishing Rod, With Two Tips And Wading Stick.
The wading stick is hollow. Has a brass cap, and one of the spare tips fits inside. I'm not sure what the material is but it's absolutely gorgeous. It has a six inch hairline split about 15" from the bottom so would need a epoxy? repair before it could be actually used as a wading stick. Personally I wouldn't use it for wading it would get wrecked. Now to the rod. There is a screw missing from the bottom reel seat fitting which has three small screws going into cork. Slightly larger screws would beef up this fitting. The rings. Whippings, ferrules and fixings all look to be in good order. One of the top sections, I assume the one which has been used, has a slight bend in it, and light line wear, however the spare top section is straight as an arrow and in the finest fettle. Antique USlan Spencer Rod 5 3/4 Oz Fishing 2 Tips Aluminum Case
Vintage rod belonging to my father from back in the mid to late 1900s. Not sure of age, maybe older. Looks to be virtually in mint condition tho I am no fisherman so check the photos and ask if you have questions. Marked Uslan Inc Spencer Rod 5 3/4 oz and all three pieces are numbered as in photos. Rod comes in 3 pieces, one handle and two tips, in a nice dark purple fabric sleeve and aluminum case. Fabric sleeve shows minimal wear. Aluminum case is about 55" long and about 2" diameter with signs of light wear. One flaw is that screw on cap is apparently not original and in being shoved over the unthreaded end of the tube, it split and was then taped on. Seems like the original end piece was lost. The whole thing smells oily/musty. The 3 pieces are 50" long. Making the rod app 8.33' long. The parts that would hold the reel are missing and the green velvet case has come apart and adhered to the 2 top parts of the rod. The rod itself has some smudges and marks. No repairs are visible. The tubular case has metal end caps and one unscrews. Not sure of the material the rest of the case is made of. Maybe wood. The case has some marks and worn finish. The case is 54" long. Here is a nice Granger Aristocrat Bamboo Fly Rod that is in excellent condition. This is a 3 piece that measures 8'3" in length and has an extra tip. One of the tips has a slight bow and the other is straight. The ferules. Guides and wraps are perfect. The original finish is in excellent condition. The original canvas bag and an aluminum tube are included. The tube is unmarked and has a solid machined and threaded cap. The fly rod is being sold as-is, as-pictured so please ask all questions before bidding. However the ellery arms co existed from 1908- 1933. Also it looks as if the company only built rods from about 1918 to the late 20's so the Rod is definately vintage. The base piece measures 37" the middle piece measures just short of 37" the middle and base piece don't slip together easily and one tip measures just short of 35" and the other measures 33" and weighs in at just under 7 pounds.I am selling the rod as a restoration or collectors piece. Up for bid is this real nice VINTAGE SPLIT BAMBOO 5 PIECE FLY FISHING ROD w/3 TIPS. I have never seen one with 3 tips. But this is the way it came and it looks like it all matches. I don't see any damage to any of the pieces. All the eyes look good, but I am not an expert on this type of item so please look it over good. There is no makers name or markings that I can see. The BUTT section measures 32 3/4 inches. The MID SECTION is 32 5/8 inches, FIRST TIP 32 1/4, 2ND TIP 32 1/2, 3RD TIP 32 1/4. Any questions please ask before bidding.

Up for sale is a Japanese Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod. This rod comes in a very attractive wood case and has 1 butt section. 1 mid section and 3 tips sections of various weights. The reel seat, grip, snake guides and wraps are in excellent condition. This is the finest example of a fly rod of this type that I have ever seen. The wraps are a very attractive variegated green and the ferrules have red tipping. Excellent addition to a collection or to fish with. One thing that makes this rod special is the 3 different weight tip sections. Each section is of differing diameter and will be able to cast a different weight fly line. This rod could very easily handle fly line ranging from 3wt to 8wt. This feature makes this rod a very unique fly rod.

It makes either an 8' fly rod(probably around a 4 weight) or a 65" closed face spinning rod. The rod is in mint condition and is finished in black lacquer. The reel seat has been repaired where the upper, fixed reel seat cracked. This was repaired by a jeweler with a laser welder(see pic) The rod breaks down to fit in a cloth sleeve in a 36" wooden case. Inside the case are a number of vintage fishing accessories. Included are the plastic sliders covering the storage compartment for flys, hooks, etc. This is good because many old boxes have these missing! Rod is in good shape for its age. The rod does have one tip that the ferrule is coming loose from the bamboo tip portion but I am sure something that an experienced fisherman/pole collector could fix. The blue/green looking stopper on the bottom of the fishing pole base wants to fall out when you pick the pole up. These seems common for old poles and tends to happen just from age, nothing major but wanted to mention it. Everything else on the bamboo fly rod pieces seems intact and good, again refer to pictures for exact conditions. It is a three piece rod( with two different tips) and measures 12.8 feet or 12.6 feet depending on the final end chosen. I picked this up at an estate sale along with other vintage items. This beautiful. Vintage, 9 ft, 4 piece with an extra tip, and an original felt lined grooved wooden holder, and also with a quality made reproduction canvas carrying case was made by the T.H. Chub Company of Post Mills, Vermont. The circa is 1920's. Many hours with the labor of love went into the restoration of this vintage fishing artifact by a talented Michigan rod restorer. Free of cracks to the bamboo, and all appearing to be straight, and with good ferules, good guides, good wraps, and nice finish. This has a nice. Clean cork handle with a small chink in the cork. C. Hagedorn" This rod measures 8 1/2' when assembled an includes 2 tips( 3 piece rod with extra tip) It is in beautiful condition. This belonged to my grandfather who passed away over 30 years ago and it has been in storage ever since. He collected vintage fishing tackle and was an avid fisherman. Not sure if Hagedorn was a local rod maker but I have been unable to find any reference to him online. My grandfather lived in CT and ME his whole life so it may be a local maker from one of those states. The only thing I noticed is that one of ... morethe tips has a plain wire guide at the tip and one has a fancier guide with a reddish bushing in the hole.not sure if this is how it comes or whether one was replaced but neither tip appears to have been repaired(they are the same length. Horrocks Ibbotson H-1 "Beaverkill" fishing rod with 2 tips + original muslin bag
This rod came from my dad's stuff. he was a sailor. Not much of a fisherman, but appreciated quality equipment. This rod seems to be in excellent, little used, condition. It does not appear to me to have been repaired, but see photos to determine for yourself, as I do not know anything about how to evaluate it. Rod base section. The middle section and the longest tip each measure 34.5" The second tip measures 32" All measurements are end-to-end, so if the rod were put together, it would be a bit less than the total of the sections as I have measured them. Per Jim Adams of Adams Angling- who has NOT seen the rod in person. Only photos- H-I BEAVERKILL Fly Rod. Made from 1930's-1950's. Your decal places it around 1945-1950.
