Pearl 14" Alloy shell snare drum - Extremely rare with free floating strainers
Pearl 14" Alloy shell snare drum Hi there. And welcome to my auction for a Pearl 14" Alloy shell snare drum. These are extremely rare. And benefit from having an alloy shell in a silver sparkle finish, with lugs similar to the elite series, coupled with the strainers from the free floating series which are brilliant, as you can set the snare height across the bed and head with infinite precision. Originally bought brand new many years ago(i can remember saving up for it for quite a while! I lent it to a friend about 2 years ago. And it has been returned with a small dent in the side(see pictures) and a few surface bubbles near a couple of the lugs. It also has some rust on the rims and a little on the strainers. Dont lend gear to friends maybe! That said, I am a nerd when it comes to drums being mint, and from more than a couple ... moreof metres away is not apparent. It is an extremely loud snare. Even my guitarist used to make comment about it! and can be tuned for a wide variety of musical styles. The top head is a Remo powerstroke 3 with plenty of life left in it(replaced since it was returned! and the bottom head does have a few little dents in it. The snares are in good order. With no bends or kinks. I was tempted to keep it. But I just have too many snares already. The postage covers UK mainland only. NOT Highlands, Islands, or abroad. Gretsch Synchromatic 1950's f-hole archtop acoustic guitar with floating pickup
Gretsch Synchromatic 1950's f-hole archtop jazz guitar. Paper lable which can be viewed through the f-hole. Claiming this guitar was made in Brooklyn New York. Model number is typed onto lable, and it is 6014-5. Serial number is 105xx. The last 2 digits have been replaced with xx for security reasons. The serial Spruce top with maple back and sides, and neck. I am including a working vintage floating pickup, Claricon brand, that clamps to the strings behind the bridge and the pickup is suspended by a rod. The 2 plastic knobs are missing from the floating pickup assembly, but the 2 potentiometers are still there and work fine. The pickup can be slid back and forth on the rod, changing the tone to more bass as you slide it close to the neck, and more treble as you slide it closer the bridge. The bridge is a custom replacement that works ... moregreat. Acoustically, this guitar sounds incredible, with a big, booming bass sound, and plenty of crisp, clean sounding treble highs. A very well balanced sounding, and big acoustic guitar. Plenty of acoustic volume also. Easy to play with a wide, shallow and very comfortable neck. Super low action. This guitar has lots of scratches and gouges in the finish, many on the face. There are some pieces of binding missing up at the headstock area on the side of the neck and around the edge of the headstock. The headstock veneer is curling up slightly around the edges of the headstock. There is some binding at a couple of spots around the back edge of the body that is crumbling or deteriorating from age. There is a little bit of water damage on the back of the body down by the bottom where the strap button is. This is a small area a few inches long down by the bottom on the back of the guitar where the back is a little warped and coming undone. There is a small hairline crack in the maple on the back of the body by the narrow waist about 2 inches long from the wood drying too much. There is some buckle wear on the back also. Vintage Guild CA-100 Arch top made in Hoboken N.J. with added floating pick up
I have downloaded a couple of videos of this guitar. These 1st two are to hear the guitar. This third video attempts to show the guitar and any finish flaws or issues. Guild CA-100 with added Benedetto Pick up. Made in Hoboken N.J. The CA-100 has a hand carved solid spruce top. Pick up is screwed on through the pick guard with a single screw and is floating. Has volume and tone and 1/4 inch jack. The guitar plays like a dream. Clean up and down the neck. Has a gorgeous woody tone. Neck angle is very nice with a distance of about 7/8 inches from the top to the top of the D and G strings at the bridge. Action is between 1/16 and 1/8 inches with room left to go down. There are a couple of holes on the top side of the neck where I would guess an earlier pick up was screwed in.
