This is a vintage aluminum tackle box. I am rather sure it is an Umco but not positive as all idenyifying lables are missing. The box looks exactly like the Umco boxes. It measures app. 16" long X 9 1/2" tall X 9" wide, opens to four plastic lined aluminum trays 4" X 14.5" X 1.25" No worm burns! This has all brass hinges and latch, heavy plastic handle, free of dents, in very, very good condition.

Vintage Envelope from Shakespeare Fishing Tackle-1947 Advertisements--No Reserve
Here is a great look at some unusual vintage advertising from the Shakespeare Fishing Tackle company! The company was founded in 1897. And this envelope dates from 1947-the 50th anniversary of the firm. The front of the envelope shows the new glass fiber Wonderod, along with the matching Wondereel-both proclaiming"Shakespeare Fine Tackle-Honor Built for Fifty Years. The back of the envelope features the new Wexford Wonder Line, braided of nylon, which was shown to wear 3 times longer, and was 7 times more water resistant-as reported by the United States Testing Company in test# 76967, dated April 11, 1947. At the bottom of this side they feature four baits that catch fish-with images of the mouse, pup, dopey and grumpy-what a group! This envelope is still flat, never having been filled. Although unused, there are some signs of handling ... moreover the last 66 years, but it is in still very nice condition. Sealine folding fishline dryer Model O-2 with box and instructions Here's an ingeniously designed fishline dryer made by the Walt Hengst Co. of Sun Valley. California. I know this because besides coming with a box in very good condition, it also has the instructions/promotional piece as well. This complicated piece is in excellent shape. With all parts in beautiful vintage condition. I won't kid you, it's pretty ungainly to open up- same with folding it up, but every piece from the grip that holds the end of the line to the crank that spins the reel. everything looks good, feels good and works well. Designed with interesting spring clamps on the base that can attach the O-2 to camping table. Tackle box, truck bed, etc. the folding apparatus is held by swiveling hooks that release the spring-loaded reel from it's base to erect. ... moreAfter attaching it to something, the line is attached with a clamp on one of the rungs, and the line is laid on with a folding crank. The box is a typical taped and covered sleeve style box that is still absolutely solid. Although there is significant staining, some tape residue and the edges show noticeable evidence of scuffing and wearing through the decorative outer wrap. the reel is made of several kinds of metal including an anodized aluminum crank. Spring steel and cast-metal hubs. the stays and rungs appear to be plated with some splotching, but the finish is sound and there is no rust. There are scratches consistent with normal use, but it is robustly functional in every way. The instructions and promotional piece is an 8-1/2 by 11" piece printed on both sides. One color. Do read the instructions because is gives the clued to handling this thing safely, but bear in mind that the paper is old and brittle, although I would judge it to still be handleable with significant care. It's been folded from creation to fit in the box, and then incorrectly folded somewhere along the line. It has a distressing tear off the middle of the sheet which which doesn't look
