I'm not sure who made this reel. Bit it was branded for BASS. My guess would be Shakespeare, but I'm not sure. It doesn't have the gear ratio on it anywhere, but just from using it I would say it's 5.4:1 or something close. It does have a flipping switch, 5 ball bearings and a magnetic brake control. These are very HARD to find and are stamped a US Men's 9 1/2 but please check the measurements for a proper fit as all manufacturer's have different standards. These are MADE IN ITALY in the early 70's. As retro as hiker come. The uppers are a thick and stout leather(Orangish Brown in color accented with beige) with signs of use. Marks, scratches that add a very nice vintage feel to these as they are still well cared for. A continuous stitched tongue for better performance. The toes and the heels are reenforced and quite solid. The soles are VIBRAM Rubber soles with signs of use but a lot of life left in these. They have a very unique moon shoe type look.
