Can be worn either way. There are numerous compartments with waterproof zippers. There are a total of three zippers.two are on the front for easy access when worn on the chest and the main compartment zipper is on the top which opens to expose a very large open compartment with four side pouches. The original manufacturer's card is inside which warns that although bag is 100% waterproof, it advises against intentional total submersion. Simms zip off wet wading fly fishing/ flats pants large excellent condition I am listing these as used but I can't find anything wrong with these pants. Pants have six pockets. Two side hand pockets. Two Velcro pockets on the side of the leg and two rear pockets, one zip and one Velcro. Lower leg zips off to convert to shorts. Legs also have a side zipper which zips up abut 6 inches. Front of pants have a zipper with a button closure as well as a draw string for a closer fit. They are size large. Inseam is 32 inches from bottom of pant to crotch area. I have had the pack for 3 years but use it only on my annual two week fly fishing trip to Yellowstone so it has seen very little use. Simms Fishing Products zip off wet wading fly fishing/ flats pants large VG Pants have six pockets. Two side hand pockets. Two Velcro pockets on the side of the leg and two rear pockets, one zip and one Velcro. Lower leg zips off to convert to shorts. Legs also have a side zipper which zips up abut 6 inches. Front of pants have a zipper with a button closure as well as a draw string for a closer fit. They are size large. Inseam is 32 inches from bottom of pant to crotch area. Waist measures about 36 inches but it is elastic with a draw string so I would say anyone 34-38 could wear these. There are a few stains on these. I have done my best to capture the stains in pictures if you zoom in. Otherwise they are in great condition with all the zippers working fine and no tears or fraying.
