It is made of heavy cotton duct material with a metal hook fastener on the right shoulder. This vest had two pockets, one on each side. It was used to carry various small arms ammunition, mortar rounds and even Bazooka rockets. The M2A1 ammunition bag had two large pockets that were designed for carrying 60mm mortar shells. Both mortar crews and bazooka teams used the vest in Vietnam. Though apart from the Marines, bazooka use fell early in the war due to the introduction of the LAW rocket launcher. The dark green pieces are polyester which was the fashion fabric of the time. This uniform came in many different pieces that were interchangeable. This auction is for SIX pieces as shown. The details are as follows: BELL-BOTTOM PANTS: Made of 95% Dacron Polyester and 5% Nylon. They have an elastic waist. Flared legs ... moreand sewn-in crease down each leg. This pair is in Excellent Used Condition with an official label stating Size 16. The waist expands to approximately 40 inches. And the inseam is approximately 29 inches. There are no visible stains. Tears or fading. BLOUSE: Long sleeves with a five-button front closure. Official Girl Scout label is intact showing this to be a Size 12. And the fabric is 65% Dacron Polyester and 35% Combed Cotton. The yellow dots that you see are tiny yellow trefoils. There are a few very minor spots on the inside collar that do not show when wearing. And there is no fading, stains or tears visible.
