This vintage Chinese hand embroidered Robe Jacket Set was purchased by me on my honeymoon in December. 1962. It has never been worn. The set includes robe, black pants with matching trim on the legs, a black skirt, a pair of matching slippers(size 7) and a matching tote. The label reads" Splendor" High Fashion Fine Fabric" Hand Embroidered" all rayon- Made in China" It is made of a deep emerald green silky fabric background. With silver metallic thread embroidery work. The jacket style robe has a mandarin collar neckline. Knotted button loop toggles for closure down the front, and two slip pockets. The jacket is fully lined in a white background matching fabric. There is a label, Made in China" Size 36" sewn inside. I believe that is comparable to size 10. The jacket measures 25" long, with a 42" ... morewaist, 40" bust and 17" across the shoulders. The sleeves are 22 1/2" long. The skirt is black and measures 36" long. Hips 45" The waist has a front panel and elastic back. There is an embroidered slit up the back of the skirt. The pants are black with matching embroidered trim on the leg bottoms. They measure 39" long with a 27" inseam and hips 45" The matching tote measures 12" wide. 8" tall and is fully lined. The matching slippers have not been worn and are size 7. The jacket is made by Transcon. The size on the label is worn off but it appears to be small- a 140 pound/5'9 man fit in both pants and jacket. The pants are made by Barrier Wear and are a size 32/34. Both pieces are used and the yellow color is different because they were made by 2 different manufacturers. The pants are in like-new condition but have the firefighters name printed on the back. They have been used so have some dirty areas. Very Rare set. Dark Navy Blue Wool Coat 10 pieces of wool form back of coat. 5 pieces of wool form the front. Shoulders and collar. Stitching is strong at all the seams. Bottom edge of jacket appears to never been Hemmed. Navy Color Cotton Liner in fine condition for body. Sleeves white cotton lined also in fine condition. No Staining or discoloring in the armpit regions. 14x 1 inches Buttons on Front when"closed" To Left or Right. 4x 1 inch Buttons on back 2 are through the"Pocket tabs" 3x 1/ inch Buttons on outside of each sleeve which unbutton a 5 12/ inch opening from hem. Split 17 inches@ center with a double ply on either side of the Tails 2 Pockets which are white cotton(no holes) with blue stitching at seams. Both measure 6 x 12 inches. Wool double ply tabs topping each pocket with 1/4 parallel stiched seam. No ... moreholes in the cotton inside left"Gun" Pocket.
