The rod is rated to 1/8" to 3/8" lures and 4-10 pound line. Photo Album Berkley CA Mt St Helens Napa River Yosemite Handwritten Titles 1916-
I purchased two photo albums from the same shop. I have no idea if they go together so I’m selling them in separate auctions. So if you’re interested in this one check out the other I put up for a buy it now also. This album has a total of 164 photos inside and all of them are glued to the pages. I’m sure this is a West Coast album because many of the photos have handwritten identification. Some say Napa River. Berkley. Sacramento. Mt. St. Helens. Yosemite, Rector Falls. Putah Creek and more. This album dates from 1916-1927 or so. The ones I was particularly interested in were the ones of Mt. St. Helens because many of you know that was an active volcano which blew back in 1980 and of course looks completely different. The reel is in very good cosmetic and functional shape but please take note the line guide is weathered as you can see in the photo. The click ring has a very very slight indent but does not effect its function. It measures about 3-3/8" and looks to be about a size 5 reel. Otherwise it is a nice solid reel with very good frame. Seat, crank and spool. Reel cranks quite nice has a good true straight shaft and has a good working clicker and switch and has a variable drag which works quite well with good drag washers. The first rod is a 5'2' rod with all it's original eyes and a lure weight of 3/8 to 5/8 ounce. The second rod was a 5'6' rod but was broken and lost an 1 1/2' and is now 5' 4 1/2' rod with a new replacement tip, The lure weight is rubbed off but looks like it might be 1/4 to 1 ounce not 100% on that. Both rods are decent with pistol grip handles made of foam, One rod has a Fugi seat with a thumb screw type holder the other has a twist lock type holder. As the pictures will show one rod's handle has a tear in it, Nothing major I think the previous owner used it to put his hook there when not fishing. Vintage Berkley GRAY Model G30 Spinning Fishing Rod (“B” insignia) 7'
You are bidding on a Vintage Berkley GRAY Model G30 Spinning Fishing Rod. This is a two piece rod that measures 7 feet and is designed for 1/8-3/8 oz. lure. Can’t find a line weight or action on the rod. But from the feel, I would describe the action as light to medium. The rod shows some signs of use, mostly along the wraps were the finish is starting to wear, but the wraps are tight and secure and hold all 6 ceramic guides nicely. It is equipped with a metal reel seat(few scratches and part of original price sticker still attached) On the end of the handle is the raised letter“B” The black wrap on the female section of the tip ferrule is starting to come unwrapped and is missing a little of the thread, but I don’t see any mechanical issue for this other than appearance. When looking at the rod from the top side near the tip, the rod shows ... morea slight bend to the right and downward, just slightly. It must have been stored upright in this position for a long time. This rod is ready to catch fish or add to your collection. Pictures are part of the description.
