Up for sale is a mint condition Allcocks Match Aerial 4.5" centrepin reel. This reel is from my personal collection. The reel retains 90% all of its original finish. And the only paint missing is rubbed off around the rim, and a small patch(about 5 mm x 5 mm) on the inside of the spool. The remaining finish is perfect, and all the parts are original. The reel foot is shiny, and there are no marks or blemishes on the spokes. Allcocks label is clearly visible on the back. Spins flawlessly, with a small hint of a wobble which is un-noticeable and does not affect its function. Would make a great reel for the collector, but even better used on your favorite river for for coarse fishing. It pains me to let it go, but I no longer need a big collection of reels. Dating from the 1940's. This wooden spring-loaded float measures 8 3/4" and retains its original colorful decal from the Stamtdie-Products company of Stamford, Conn. This copper wired device made suspending a baited hook at a desired depth possible- recently voted by the ASA one of the ten most influential fishing products created over the past 75 years.
