I used this fishfinder to fish NYC watershed reservoirs. Primarily Kensico for lakers and browns and it worked excellent. I assume it would also work well through the ice(maybe the transducer mounted on a tip up? but I've never done it! Still functions as if it were new, the only thing I see is you may need a new suction cup in the near future. This one works fine but has a small area of discoloration/deterioration( on it that may or may not last. I'd use it if I were keeping it! Up for auction is a Humminbird Super 60 Birdtrap Flasher That has been modified for ice fishing. These are the flasher units that laid the ground work for the present day high priced flashers that are used to find and catch fish today. This unit has been modified to except the newer style 12v sealed battery which gives it a constant voltage and makes it possible to pinpoint targets under the ice. With the battery upgrade and a narrower cone angle transducer this unit can read through clear ice and thus save drilling holes to find the depth you wish to fish. Once it is set up in the hole it can detect some of the smallest jigs as they are dropped down to were the fish are located. This unit also can be used to distinguish bottom types and with a little practice can tell you everything you need to know about the lake your fishing. Up for auction is a slightly used Humminbird 586C color fishfinder. This is my personal unit that has been used 4 times at most. It was a gift which I installed on the bow of my bass boat which I sold late last Fall to upgrade to a larger boat which happened to have a virtually the same unit already installed. The package includes the following: The head unit itself(the first picture is of the actual unit in demo mode. Hooked up to a battery and running) Quick Connect mount Power Cable Dual Beam skimmer transducer and transom mounting bracket(IMPORTANT NOTE: The transducer was installed on my trolling motor using zip ties. One of which pinched the cable roughly 22" above the transducer. I repaired the cable by soldering all three internal lines, sealing the soldered joints individually with electrical tape, using waterproof heat shrink ... morewrap over the repair then covering that with electrical tape(see photo of cable with my finger pointing at the repair) I used the unit twice after making the repair and it worked perfectly) Original sealed owners manual and installation guide Original box(no original packing material) Other than the missing screen cover mentioned above. It is a complete kit and it is in very good physical condition. I have had many different makes and models of fishfinders over the years. But have found Humminbird to be the best. They are the easist to use and most reliable and Humminbird tech support is outstanding. No matter what you buy, make sure to get a dual beam unit. If you just get one with a 200khz transducer and you fish in shallow water under 20 feet deep, all you see on your screeen is a very small circle under the boat. The 83khz frequencey gives a much broader view under the boat- It took me a long time to learn and understand this. The 586C, like many Humminbird units, gives you both 83khz and 200khz at the same time. Used Humminbird 798CI SI Combo fishfinder depth sounder sonar GPS Hummingbird
For sale is a Humminbird 798CI SI Combo sonar and GPS unit with accessories. The serial number is 9090903-0267. This equipment came with a used 2010 bass boat that I bought in December of 2011. Since I'm a loyal Lowrance guy I removed this unit from the drivers console dash. And replaced it with a new Lowrance. I'm finally getting around to selling it. When I test drove the boat I ran the electronics and they all worked, I've not run them since. I never received the box or any literature, but you can download the instruction and installation manuals from Humminbird's website. The actual display/processor unit is very clean, with no scratches on the screen. Since this unit was installed in dash there is no gimbal mounting bracket, but it does come with the dash mounting bracket(picture 10) The removable back half of the swing-away ... morebracket(used to mount the transducer) is cracked(picture 4) and I think it should be replaced. Pictures 5 and 6 show the front and back of the side imaging transducer. Picture 6 shows the cracked mounting bracket installed on the transducer assembly, the transducer itself is fine. Picture 7 shows a Y-spilt transducer input cable, one cable is labeled"Side Imaging" the other"Dual Beam" The dual beam, puck style transducer is still epoxied to the inside of my hull, and therefore not included. The unit is marked as"Internal GPS" which I think means that it has an internal receiver. It was installed with an external receiver model AS GR50(picture 8) and so I've included it with the accessories for sale. Picture 9 shows the power cable. All cables are routed into a jack that snaps into the back of the actual display/processor unit, the jack is shown snapped in place, but with no cables attached(picture 3) What you see in the pictures is what you get. Humminbird Dimension 3 120 Fishfinder with transducer and speedometer
This fishfinder was working well when it was taken off the boat. After wiring it to a battery I found that it still powers on just fine and shows all the menus just as it should. The transducer with the mounting bracket is included as is the speedometer. There is no reserve on this auction.
