This is from a collection of hat blocks acquired from the estate of a French milliner who came to the U.S. 1940s. And is a particularly beautiful one in its intricate construction and shape- it's my personal favorite of all I've offered for sale. I can't be certain of the date, but it is most likely from the late 30s/early 40s. Very solid, the form is constructed with a central"X" structure through a core cylinder, the outer shaped pieces varying in thickness from 1" to about 3/8"see photo details, difficult to describe! BABY DOLL HEAD MOLD This Baby Doll Head mold with its production box frame. Measures up to about 6.5" x 5.5" x 6" The baby head has very naturalistic, sweet features. You can see the reddish gold copper showing through. It has the mottled remains of a little bit of vinyl or plastic splash. The eyes have small raised bumps, almost like pupils, but no pins in the sockets or between the lips like some have. The mold is copper and is not magnetic. The mold entry has no cover and it has an edge that projects a quarter of an inch from the rest of the frame bottom, so it does not sit perfectly flat. Antique Whiskey Bottle 3 Part Mold 1800s Embossed GO TAYLOR Applied Top Amber
Here for your consideration we have an 1800s GO TAYLOR Whiskey bottle. This item has NO chips or cracks anywhere. It is a base embossed amber whiskey with a hand applied cone top. There is just a slight drip on one side. The neck has large deep wrinkles one one side and a few fairly long and thin seed bubbles. There is a moderate amount of exterior scratching on this piece as well as some scuffing. The outside finish remains very shiny. No haze at all in or out. This was made with a 3 part mold process in the 1880 to 1890 period. It has a slight orange tint to my eye. Lots of pin sized bubbles and some slightly larger in the body. There is also some swirling texture to the glass on the body. Base embossing is strong as follows"REGISTERED TRADE MARK GO TAYLOR" This is a pretty darn nice one with some character. This is from a large group of antique foundry molds etc. that I will be listing over time. These came from the estate of a local man who purchased them years ago from a foundry in Menomonie. This foundry originated in 1898 as the Dunn County Iron Works where they produced castings for sawmills and brickyards. A couple of years later they became the Aetna Engine Works which produced gasoline powerplants for sawmills. In the 1910's the engine work was stopped and it became the Forster Foundry Company. In 1928 a floor drain was started but the depression/stock market brought an end to this. The company now operates as the Badger Iron Works. Offered for bidding is a beautiful ceramic cookie stamp. Press or mold, made of quality stoneware. The material is fired at a very high temperature. And as a result it is very durable and non-porous(less risk of staining) It was made by Brown Bag Cookie Art; it's heart shaped and has a detailed image of a cute bouquet of tulips tied with a ribbon. The back is marked BROWN BAG COOKIE ART(c) 1989 HILL DESIGN. The stamp measures 5 1/2 inches(14.0cm) from side to side and just over 6 inches(15.2cm) from top to bottom. So it will make nice BIG cookies. A U.S. quarter is shown in the pictures, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance. There are no chips. Cracks or scratches on the cookie mold. For your buying pleasure today we have this Antique"Margach" Ingot Mold. The mold is made of cast iron and is free from any defects. It measures 28 inches long. 2 3/4 inches tall, 1 7/8 inches deep and is 2 3/16 inches wide. The handle is 4 3/4 inches wide. A recent barn find. This is a very odd and unusual item that is hard to come by. The pour spout on the end enables the user to easily pour molten material out of it. There is still a small amount of a shiny material around the handle(possibly lead or alum. It has been cleaned and sealed with beeswax to preserve the old iron patina. RARE Glass Jar Antique Amethyst Cracker Biscuit 8 Sided, Pontil Dip Mold? 6"x6"
UP FOR BID this lucky find. Antique biscuit cracker jar- I came upon this jar in the late 60's in Seattle area, and am finally ready to let it go- AFTER MUCH LOVED. Now the other thing is, Im not sure what I have- this measures 5-3/4" tall, opening is 4-1/2" wide and about 6-7" wide, approximate. This is 8 sided, with wides of 3" and 1-1/4" on corners. This has a 1" collar with little decorative ribbing, and should have had a bale as there is little tabs with holes for bale. This is medium amethyst in color, and pictures are taken exposed to window for light. This has quite a number of bubbles in the glass, which leads me to believe it is blown, and possible in a dip molding process. There is a pontil mark? I think) on the bottom, tho not real rough. The rim is nicked, all the way around on inside of edge, ... moremost are fleapecked or just nicked, couple that are a flake chip, and all worn smooth. No other chips, cracks or breaks. I do not find any seams, with the exception of on each of the tabs for the bale.
