This three cavity Pyramid Sinker Mold does not have a brand name on it. It will produce 3 pyramid sinkers in weights of 2. 4, 5 ounces in one pour. I have used it and the sinkers have no noticable flashing. No hardware is needed with this mold. As the mold produces a lead eye on the top of each sinker. For those of you who are new to lead production: You should"Candle" any lead mold before use. Candling is coating the cavities with black soot with a candle; i.e. the soot coating will make it easy to remove the sinkers from the mold once they cool down a bit. In fact. General Sickles was a warrior in the civil for the Yankees and was a hero during that conflict. It looks to me like he owned a factory that manufactured this case and the bullet pliars. I would have liked to wire brushed the pliars to get the name but did not want to destroy any patina on them.This package will contain some shot. The case and the bullet mold and a paper envelope that the shot is in. The shot is lead and they measure approxametly 3/8 inches in diameter. This is folks, history and was actually used in that famous war between the states 160 or so years ago. This authentic Civil War era pouch. Shot and bullet mold was made in St Louis During the War. General Sickles was a warrior in the civil for the Yankees and was a hero during that conflict. It looks to me like he owned a factory that manufactured this case and the bullet pliars. I would have liked to wire brushed the pliars to get the name but did not want to destroy any patina on them.This package will contain some shot, the case and the bullet mold and a paper envelope that the shot is in. The shot is lead and they measure approxametly 3/8 inches in diameter. This is folks, history and was actually used in that famous war between the states 160 or so years ago. Large Civil War Bar of Lead & Iron .38 Cal. Pistol Ball Mold
This huge bar of lead was excavated in the vicinity of Petersburg. Virginia, and would have been used to melt down to cast bullets, canister shot, and other implements of war. It is approximately thirteen inches long, and has a slight bend in its body. One can still see a few numbers, including a 2 and a 3, which due to their spacing most likely were meant as length measurements. The bullet mold is in excellent condition, and is nondug. It would have cast a.38 caliber roundball, a reproduced example of which is shown in the photo(not included in the auction) Both relics would make unique additions to any collection. Vintage hot Lead Typeset Mat Mold- The Vancouver Sun- September 6. 1941. In the early to mid 1900′s newspapers were printed using hot metal typesetting. Also known as hot lead typesetting. Brass negative molds were laid out on a big tray to create the stories. A piece of moist cardboard-type material was laid on top of that to create a mold. Then hot melted lead was poured over this cardboard material to make the reverse image that was then rolled over the paper to print the news! Size is 59 x 44 cm. Some parts of the mold are missing.
