Up for auction is a vintage JC Higgins metal tackle box full of fishing tackle. The box is 13 1/2 inches by 7 inches by 7 inches with two trays that swing up when you open it. The box itself is in solid condition with some dents in the top and scratches overall from age. The latches all work good there is no key. The handle is good. The inside of the box is in great condition and very usable. There is about 15 or more packages of hooks some are full some only have a couple of hooks. some are vintage some are from the seventies. There are two fishing licenses from 1974-75. There is about 15 various fishing lures a couple of them are vintage wood. There are a bunch of sinkers swivels and miscellaneous fishing items. 2 Different Vintage Green Metal LIVE BAIT BOXES Worms Fishing Tackle Waist Belt
Up for auction are two vintage green metal fishing bait boxes. Usually used for live worms, which are typically mounted on your belt. Both have worn paint and there is rust inside, as well as rust in areas where paint is worn on the outside. Rust does not compromise strength of bottom; there are no holes or thin spots on bottom. One box, the one shown in left hand side of first photo and in second photo, has what I believe is the word RAINBOW stencilled on front. This box is about 6" wide, and has fixed belt clips on back. Small pinhole breathing holes in top. Good amount of rust inside. The other box is about 6 1/8" wide, has a round breathing hole pattern on top, not as much rust inside, and has a metal clip that you can pull over your belt then latch on the bottom of the box. This was my wife's Grandfather s tackle box. By doing some re search online. It looks to be from the 1940's or 50's. Paint is wearing off and it has a quarter si z ed dent in the lid. Leather handle has split some. 2 keys come with it for the lock. Over 50 pieces inside. Don't know a lot about these. Some of the Lazy Ike looking lures say Japan on them as well as some of the spoon lures. This auction is for 2 older Fishing Tackle Boxes. One was made by Sears Roebuck J.C. Higgins. It is made entirely of heavy-duty metal. It has some rust. And shows it's age throughout. It is still very solid. There is a very unique piece, that fills the top tray, and rotates up and down. It has many"fingers" on it, and it appears that the one on the far left is missing. There is a flat piece of cork that will fit in any of the trays. There are also 2 metal, removable, tray dividers included. All 3 clasps work with a little realigning. All moving parts work smoothly. Most of the manufacturer's label has worn off, though you can still see most of the fish, and the name. The blue box was made entirely of plastic, by Emco. It is in great shape. Up for Auction are two vintage Tackle Lure boxes.I bought these boxes at an Estate sale.the seller told me her grandfather owned both boxes and they appear to be from the same time frame. The name on the large one is Horrocks-Ibbotson.the size is 14 x 6 3/4. This box side latches work. however I do not have a key for the main middle latch and have not closed it as I am afraid it will not open…The age is unknown to me…however looking up the Company on the internet I came across the below article…so it appears to be before 1929 Horrocks-Ibbotson was one of America's largest production rod companies for many years. Competing head to head with Montague and South Bend. This company that came to be known as the World's Largest Manufacturer of Fishing Tackle traces its history to 1812 but did not become involved with fishing tackle until ... more1863 when an English immigrant named James Horrocks was hired as a clerk. In 1894, Edward Ibbotson was hired as an errand boy. Gradually the company acquired existing tackle companies. In 1905 the company built a new factory in Utica, New York and continued to grow until it was known throughout the world. The firm was incorporated in 1909 as the Horrocks-Ibbotson Co. VINTAGE UMCO Aluminum Metal Fishing Tackle Box Mod 1000 AS
This is a large vintage aluminum Umco tackle box. This is a Model 1000 AS. Made in Watertown, Minn. This box measures app. 19" X 9.5" X 9.5" opens to 7 trays 16" X 5.25" X 1" There are some rubber burns in some of the plastic trays, all hinges and latches as well as handle are excellent. I do not find a dent in it.

Vtg UMCO ? Aluminum Metal Fishing Tackle Box
This is a vintage aluminum tackle box. I am rather sure it is an Umco but not positive as all idenyifying lables are missing. The box looks exactly like the Umco boxes. It measures app. 16" long X 9 1/2" tall X 9" wide, opens to four plastic lined aluminum trays 4" X 14.5" X 1.25" No worm burns! This has all brass hinges and latch, heavy plastic handle, free of dents, in very, very good condition.
