The interesting part of this piece is that it has, what appears to be, a bullet hole in the side of the helmet just by the temple. This is a great piece, which has some really heavy history attached to it, and it would make a great piece for any vintage military collection! Condition: This piece is used and vintage and shows signs of wear from use. There is no liner included. One of the swivel bales and chin straps is missing. The front of the holder is Stamped NYPD Vertex Standard. I see no other markings. This looks Brand new to me. The belt/ swivel leather is in unused condition. The strap that snaps in the front to hold the radio in the holster, is excellent. Even the snaps and the rivets in this show no wear. The bottom is decorated with rivets and they look untouched also. The chrome for the swivel attachmet on either piece looks brand new as well. Very little wear to none. Here is your chance to own a little bit of NYPD history. Up for sale is a firefighting gear lot. Included are a nozzle. Discharge pipe, and adapter(s) Pictures 5-9 detail the star item of this lot. The Akron Brass style 488 discharge pipe stream shaper. It has built in fins to maximize reach on any monitor. While the adapters both have 2.5NH printed on them and most information I'm finding lists items in this lot as 2.5" I'm going to provide actual measurements that I've taken by hand to be sure you know exactly what to expect. The black end(nozzle end) measures 3" at the threads and the other end is very close to 2.5" End to end it is 15" long. The condition is well represented in the photos. It shows obvious signs of use but has no major condition defects, and all threads work properly. Pictures 2-4 show the Nemco"Inspector's Hydrant Flow Nozzle" ... moreIt is in excellent condition. Signs of use certainly exist. But from all appearances only relatively light use. Etched into the side is"Co=.88" and this etching measures about 1" long and 1/4" tall. Threads are in good working order and the seal/gasket looks very good, no cracking. Pictures 10-12 detail the adapters. The small black Adapter is an Akron Brass 2.5NH rigid female female. It's condition is good. The only noticeable issue is a couple of dings on one of the grip knobs, and this is not a significant defect in any way. Inside the female threads measures very close to 2.5" The other half of what you see is a 30 degree swivel elbow adapter. I'm not certain of the manufacturer but based on a little research I've found some that appear nearly identical produced by Kochek. The only thing printed on it is"2.5NH" It is in good condition as well. The swivel spins freely, although I can hear some rattling in the bearings. Inside the female threads on the swivel end measures 3" Now there is an issue overall with these 2 adapters and that is that they are attached and I cannot get them to release from each other. PIRATE ARTIFACT. BRONZE SWIVEL CANNON YOKE, PORT ROYAL, 1692 This is the most unusual pirate artifact from Port Royal. A large& heavy bronze swivel yoke for a Spanish cannon that came from Captain Henry Morgan's small schooner that was destroyed in Port Royal in 1692.This was from his small island schooner that he used when he was the Lt. Governor of Port Royal in the 1680's. It is 11 5/8” long x 1 3/16” diameter along the bottom bar& the curved yoke is 8 3/8” wide made of a pair of 1 1/8” diameter bar cast in one piece. It is in good relic condition with a dark green patina& still has some coral encrustation attached inside the opening on the bottom of the bottom bar. There is a large crack in the bottom yoke where it was damaged when it was fired back in the 1680’s! Solid 9 carat gold(tests thereabouts, possibly cased in parts) tri-faced spinner fob charm; beautifully made and surmounted with a hand engraved dog, and set with polished bloodstone, sardonyx and foiled cairngorm seals. Fabulous and unique- ideal for any chain or charm bracelet! CONDITION: All original and very good. Slight signs of gold detail wear and faintest foil discolouration commensurate with age and use. Needs a light clean perhaps. DEFECTS: None. DATE/MARKS: Around 1870/80. Maybe a little older. Not marked. DIMENSIONS: 29 mm tall. Vtg Hand or Holder Held ALL METAL 10" BELL Swivel Handle TRAIN or FIRE ENGINE
This is an incredible bell! It is large. Strong, and has a loud, resounding ring! It measures about 10” high to the top of the handle. The handle itself rises 5.25” from the top of the body of the bell. The top of the body of the bell measures about 4” in diameter. The diameter of the bottom or‘mouth’ of the bell is 10” It weighs 5.5 lbs and is made out of steel or some other silver-color metal. There is some kind of hard black metal( coating on the top and inside the body of the bell. The clapper extends below the bell and the clapper knob strikes the bell about 1/3” or so from the bottom edge. The ring is clear and resoundingly pleasant– and it can be very. Very loud! The handle swivels on ball bearings. And I can hold it with one hand and give it a spin with my other hand and it will easily make 5 or 6 full revolutions. It also seems possible ... moreto me that the swiveling handle could be attached to or grasped by a stand or holder of some sort– which made me think it may have been made as an alarm bell that would have been hung on an old fire engine, train engine, or some other emergency vehicle. The clapper has a screw at one side of the ball end that appears to be made of the same metal as the clapper. I don’t know if the screw dismantles the clapper because I have not tried to unscrew it. The bell also has three round-headed. Large solid brass screws on the flat top. The only mark that may help identify the maker is what appears to be the capital letters CO impressed in an oval on the black top by the brass screw heads. Please see all photos. The bell appears to be quite old and has a lot of surface scratches but no other physical defect. In spite of the outside surface wear. The inside seems to be in excellent condition, which makes me think it may have been exposed to the elements, as on an emergency truck or other outside venue. But that ring! Just incredible! WW-II \ KOREAN REAR SEAM SWIVEL BAIL HELMET
Up for auction is this WW-II\Korean rear seam swivel bale helmet in good condition. It has a rear seam. So that put some where at the end of WW-II to Korea or later in age. The helmet has been restored with new paint& cork, or sand finish. Painted as a 4 panel medic helmet. I believe that it was age to make it look old. Who ever did the aging did a fairly good job. The pin has an old"C" clasp closure with its sharp tip-end extending over the length of pin's body. It has a long swiveled hinge that still functions well. Diameter's 15.5-mm, or about 5/8" with a gram weight of 2.718. There is rust on this pin's back-side, and it has been in my collection since the late 1980's.
