1950s-1960s OCC JAPAN BAMBOO FLY FISHING 3 PIECE ROD *UNUSED*NEEDS WORK w/case
This rod is finely made but the end piece is broken off and missing. The three pieces when put together now measure 85" long and weighs 192 grams. Some of the eyes are missing and you will want to replace all of the eyes if you are going to fish with this one. There is no evidence that this rod was ever used and the cork is like new and not dried out. The rubber butt end insert is dried out. Check my pictures for markings. Etc. Also included is a heavy duty aluminum tube that measures 41" and is missing the threaded end cap. Shipping is $15.00 in the U.S.A.

Which leads me to believe these may not have been used ever. There is a bit of the clearcoat finish missing. You can see this when light hits the rods a certain way. I'll do my best to capture this in the photos. It's quite possible these rods have never been used and have been on display. They are made in Kyosho. Japan. I was going to list the separately and then I realized they probably been together for so long that I should probably keep them together. I would feel guilty separating them. This action is for a very cool 4 piece bamboo spinning pack rod marked Rainbow and I believe it is made in Japan. The 2 middle pieces measure 19 ¾ inches and the handle and tip both measure 19 ½ inches. The rod look all original as far as I can tell it has not been touched. The eyes all look good. Handle is very good. The piece connectors are a little loose and coming unwrapped and I did not try to force the pieces together… It does look like it could us some work but this is a very cool original bamboo pack rod. The hard rubber plug diameter is ~10.5mm, so that would indicate the approximate rod butt's size. There is normal signs of age and use, but no abuse. It is ~10-1/8" in length. Not counting plug. Twelve flies that are probably original. Three tips. variable length sets. All rappings appear original and see no damage or wear at all. The prior owner tied own flies and those here possibly came in the case when new. Small lightly scroll-punched metal hinges are very good and pivot fine. Lengths of all pieces will posted in a revision very soon. This is a light project yet an easy one for one who knows light woodworking and proper restoring with correct glue. there may be a small piece of wood miss ingthe plated metal is pitted slightly yet very very good condition overalll. no rust visible. cork handle is truely in tact and though dry count be treated and used. Three tips. are small lightly scroll-punched metal clasps and three hinges that are fine and pivot well. Length: Short rod(two sections) assembled is 64 inches plus from butt cap to tip top. Long rod(three sections) assembled is 95 inches plus from butt cap to tip top. There are two tips(one extra) for the long assembly. This is a light project and easy. there may be a small piece of case wood missing. The rod needs nothing, the chrome like plated metal is very lightly pitted yet excellent condition overall. no rust. rubber butt is cracking some. cork handle is truely in tact and near new feeling and in looks! all ... moreguide windings appear excellent and are seal coated. are very few signs of use. Age on this is 60 or so years. this is a nice example. and rod is useable. Case needs fixing. It's in good condition but the box that contains it does have some damage. However. It still functions. It comes with 12 flies and other accessories that I don't know what they are. The pieces all slide together okay. There is a screw out piece on the bottom handle that pulls out a bottle that has a screw top which reveals what I assume is a little lube for the pieces. Vintage bamboo fishing rod. 3 section rod. Each section is 23" long. So when assembled the entire rod is 5'8" Old rod. Also includes wood rod caddy/holder and cloth rod bag. There is an empty slot on the rod caddy, so I assume that this rod originally came with a spare tip, which is missing. There are no manufacturer's markings on this rod. I assume it is a Japanese manufactured rod as it resembles similar in other Ebay listings.

This is marked Arai. Asakusa Tokyo. Rod is marked Swan. Each rod section measures 32" over all. There are two tips one light( this one is missing two guides) the other one is ok. Box contains some flys. Box/case measures 37 1/2" X 3 1/2" X 2 3/4" has sliding lids over lure compartments. it has damage to one end of box as shown in picture. Except for the fine tip the rest of the rod sections look good.

Up for auction is a Vintage Bamboo Sakura Fly Rod in the original box. This is a 3 piece rod with an extra rod tip. Included with this are 8 original flies and 2 original wooden corks. The butt end has some discoloration it to it from storage but all in all in good condition. As mentioned the first rod guide has come out of its wrap but it is included in the box.The wooden box is in fair condition and showing some age. 1950s Mayflower Bamboo Fishing Rod Made in Japan Spin / Fly Fishing w Wood Case
For sale at a buy it now fixed price is this early 1950s vintage rod made in Japan. It is a 5 piece bamboo fly/spin fishing combo rod. You reverse the grip section to fish it as a fly fishing rod. As a two piece spinning rod it is a 5'4" rod. As a three piece fly fishing rod it is 8 feet long. There are two fly fishing tips. The line size for which it is balanced is unmarked but it throws a 6 weight line pretty comfortably. As a spinning rod I think you would want to keep the mono at 8 pounds or less. There originally was a logo but most of that has worn off. Still.it is readily identifiable as a Mayflower brand. It has an early ring style hook keeper. It comes with the usual latched wooden box. Condition is used but in good condition. One of the fly rod tip tops is missing(easily replaced.just glued on) Otherwise all of the eyes ... moreand the reel seat is good. All pieces have the original length so nothing is broken. Some of the wraps are worn and deteriorating but are there. The wooden case is in very good condition for one of these.with nothing broken and no damage that we see. For sale is a Royal Monarch Split Bamboo Fly Rod along with an assortment of flies and other tackle there is 24 old flies some hooks and bobbers and leader line. This is a used fly rod. It is in it's original wood box, the box does have some wear due to age and use it's still functional opens/closes there is a plastic cover over the tackle that slides out with some effort. This Fly Rod has 5 pieces the Handle. Mid-section and 3 different tips, I think it's an 8 ft rod. There is a small piece of rubber at the base of the handle. I think it may have dried out. Looks like is is going to fall off at some point. Other than that the rod seems to be in good condition. I have not put it together or used it. But I don't see any visual problems with doing so. Vintage NARUTO Japan Bamboo Fly Rod with Box ~ Extra parts Very nice older Fly Fishing Rod with the original box and 4 sections. all sections are hex shaped. Most with wire eyes. the handle section and one tip section have a heavier round eye. these 2 sections measure about 65" long. the handle section with 2 other sections measures about 100" long. The cork handle is in good condition and about 95% complete. the brass/stainless steel reel holder has some tarnish or residue but seems to function properly. the rubber tip on the handle is deteriorating. In all. There is a handle section with a tip. or an extension section with 2 tips. the winding on one eye is coming loose and 1 tip is loose(see first photo) the logo is intact but a bit difficult to read. all the ferrules seems to be in good condition and tight. The wood case is in ... morefair condition is complete with hinges and hasps. the sliders are included that cover the storage area. there are 2 small pieces of wood missing from the divided portion of the lid and one piece of the lid end. there are some splits and cracks that could be glued but overall it looks pretty good.
