Fishing Up for consideration is a vintage ABU Garcia Ambassadeur/Cardinal 55 spinning reel made in Sweden. These reel were originally marketed as the quitest spinning reel. This new series of ABU spinning reel was originall sold as Ambassadeur spinning reels in 1979. Later these reels were marketed as Cardinals. This reel is marked 790302 on the foot so it is early production of this model. Mechanically, this reel functions flawlessly with all operations checked. Cosmetically the reel is in very good to excellent condtion with vivid graphics on a nice black finish. The reel does show some wear on the bottom edges of the case and the rear edge of the rotating head. The pastic knob is also a little faded. Despite the cosmetic issues, the reel does present very well so it is suitable for fishing or adding to a vintage tackle collection. For your consideration is this vintage ABU Garcia Ambassadeur 4500C Baitcaster Reel made in Sweden. The reel is in excellent condition and working perfectly. It is very clean with no mechanical problems at all. On top of the reel it shows some minor cosmetic wear(see third image) probably from rubbing on the boat at some point. The original Abu handle is intact. One side of the reel is marked with the following, Abu Sweden along with a Ambassadeur 4500C Sticker" The bottom plate is marked with the serial number 770800 and initials BJ.
