When used correctly this feature allows the angler to cast different shapes. Weights, and to different weather conditions with minimizing the odds for a backlash. This is a used reel in nice working/looking condition. There is a little wear on the sticker under the mag cast control lever, which is by all means normal.The drag system still feels smooth and probably has many a fish left in its' future. Up for bid is a vintage 1975 Ambassadeur 5000d bass bait caster reel foot number 750100 which means it was made January of 1975 first series. not a reproduction. it has the clicker for alert and whip lash setting preventor. it has paint wear and some scratches do to use. I received this from my father in law in 2003 and also heard the stories he had to tell about the bass he caught with it over the years. I myself have drug a many of bass through the cat tails and brush with ease. everything on the reel works great. like it did in 1975 i would say. figured i would let someone else enjoy it since i don't fish no more. father in law passed in 2011 and i just lost interest in the sport.I didn't get the case for it. So it's just the reel up for bid.

I believe this is the standard model 5000. I know for a while they made the 5000c's in this color as well but believe this is the 5000. It has boat rash as you can see. The worm gear covering and the lower bar across the spool has some rusting on it. But everything seems to be working properly on it. It is like the other Ambassadeur I have for sale in that it could stand a good cleaning but everyone knows these old reels are as bullet proof as they come. Cosmetically the reel is in excellent condition with vivid graphics on silver annodized side covers and a black frame. The only cosmetic concerns include a a couple of small scratches on the left side cover and a couple of small scratches on the edge of the right side covers. Despite this.
