I dropped the buy it now price by 20 bucks. This would be hard to build for that. Completely Performance Rebuilt Abu Garcia 6500 c3 foot number 991014 48. 6 bearing round Abu Garcia Reel. New features: Completely new dual bearing line guide assembly- All parts in the line guide assembly are new including a ceramic pawl and dual bearings. New power handle Completely rebuilt drag with brand new Carbontex drag washers dressed with Cals drag grease. Brand new cog/ pinion gear with a bearing! New Boca Orange abec 7 ceramic spool bearings. The effort: The reel was completely degreased using carb cleaner. Acetone, canned air, and finally a toothbrush and liquid detergent. The appropriate cleaner was used. Based on the part material. Basically, a double degreasing. On the Boca Bearings. I removed the end caps, degreased them, and put a single drop ... moreof Reel X. You can use any performance oil you would like. Keeping the caps on these bearings does nothing more than trap water and build up debris. Spool bearings tend to be way over lubed. It will drastically affect your casting. I brushed on Cals grease to the brake plate and completely put the reel back together. Using Reel X and Cals. You can see the detail taken from the pictures. Also note the picture that has the Power Handle on the paper towel. Every part on that photo is new. Also. All plastic gears were replaced, as mentioned before, one of them was available with an actual bearing. The price for the new parts is over 80 dollars. Just have a look around you can easily check. As you can see. I will not be making big money on this. I did, however, get to build a really nice reel! In many ways this reel is better than new. Abu Garcia is great. But the have to protect themselves from abuse by putting way to much grease on their parts. As you may know. There are no 6500 c3's with six bearings. That is only on a few of their top of the line reels. Also using an Abec 7 ceramic spool bearing. And a ceramic pawl, makes this reel way better than stock. I spooled it up w

The reel has been completely torn down cleaned and lubed. Checked out and re-assembled and is ready to fish. Even though we cleaned the reel the picture you see with the main gear is the way it was when we opened it. The reel has never seen saltwater this is one of the cleanest reels this size we have opened that is used that was this clean. No corrosion, no rust, it looks new inside of the reel. The bearings were a little dry but are super smooth, the drags are smooth and the clicker and bait alarm work perfect. The outside shows wear so please look at the close-up pictures for the cosmetic condition of the reel. Remember the newer 7000I reels have bushings ... morenot bearings which all right when they are new but as time goes on the bushing start wearing because they are brass and then your spool starts having a fine wobble or even rubs on the frame and can cause damage to your reel. With bearings they get a little noisy just give them a couple drops of oil and you are ready to go! Just not too much oil otherwise it will slow the bearings down! We guarantee the reel to be as described and that it is ready to fish! A great reel for light saltwater use or for fishing the bigger species in big water like Chinook, Muskie and big Stripers. ABU Garcia Ambassadeur 4600 c4 6.3 gears This reel has anti reverse bearing. Two spool bearing and a levelwind bearing. Completely taken apart. Meticulously cleaned, and reassembled using Reel X and Cals Grease. This reel has a some boat rash. But is mechanically very good. I have replaced the plastic idler gears and installed a new pawl. This is the smallest width of the abu round reels. They are slightly lighter. And easier to manage, but every bit as tough as the bigger reels, as most of the components are identical.

For you consideration is a Abu Ambassadeur 5000. The reel is bright.Clean and sharp. Although I cannot date the reel precisely it is undoubtedly an early example, with the all paperwork dated 1962 and serial number 298290 and the deep red color. mechanically no problems. The brown leather case has the"Ambassadeur of Sweden" logo and brass clasp. It is in overall very good condition. Included is the oil bottle(empty) Spanner and spares/service kit with the usual array of spare parts and brake blocks. It is embossed with 5000 on the lid. There is also a 23 page booklet. Ambassadeur 5600 AB reel in nice working order. These are less common than the standard reels. As these have anti backlash control, and better handles. Works very good and has no boat rash. The lettering is a little worn where it says anti-backlash system on the end cap of the reel. The black that shows in pictures 4 and 5 is my Iphone, not a blemish.
