Three of the most important features of any lightweight jigging reel are the drag configuration- adding and upgrading drag washers increases drag but may add stress to other internal components) The rigidity of the frame and durability of the main and pinion gears in order to withstand constant use and to handle a large fish should an occasional big mamma come along- even if your primary target(stripers, blues, fluke, tog, weakfish, ling, catfish, etc. are in the medium sized category(for the most part! Here is nice clean hard to find Penn 259 reel. It has been gone through and has a new drag. It has a Black Accurate Frame and an Aluminum Spool there is one bad screw hole on the frame but it has not affected the performance of the reel. This is the reel they used to put the transmissions on to increase the retrieve speed when fishing iron. This is a rare hard to find reel to fish or collect. It has some minor scratching on the chrome rings, but the drag is smooth, the clicker is loud and it spins free. It is ready to fish.

Here we have a used upgraded Penn Senator 114 H fishing reel. It comes with black Accurate AccuPlates and an Accurate power handle. It also has a black extra-wide Tiburon one-piece aluminum frame and spool. The spool and frame measure 3-1/2" wide. Making this wider than a normal Penn 114 HLW. It is referred to as a"Super 6/0" which is the same size as a Newell Black Marlin kit. It is in overall great condition. The frame and side-plates have a few minor scratches/nicks. The most wear is near the feet seen in picture 6 and on the star drag wheel and the handle screw in picture 8. They both have some chrome loss, but are cheap to replace if wanted. There are some minor scuffs from storage on the rod racks, but nothing major or deep. Everything functions perfectly as you'd expect. Please examine the photos for cosmetic state of the reel. After the first trip. At some point in time, the small screw that holds the retaining washer around the reel handle nut, feel out during the trip, causing the washer to get lost. Or maybe the reel came without the screw and washer and I didn't notice? Shimano's customer service is awesome and they offered to send me a replacement for free. The only problem was that they were temporarily out of the gold colored washer, and only had the black from the silver Trinidad line. I didn't ... morewant to wait a month and had them send me it. Vintage Penn Jigmaster 500 with NEWELL Aluminum frame parts. NEWELL Teflon bushings and a milled aluminum spool that I am guessing is either ACCURATE or possibly TIBURON. Spool for PENN 99 midsize jigmaster fishing reel Accurate ? Tiburon ? Newell ?
Aluminum aftermarket spool for the Newell modified. PENN 99 Midsize Jigmaster. Unknown manufacturer but I am guessing that it is either made by Accurate or Tiburon. The clicker star is gone so if you need the clicker function, you would have to spot weld another onto this reel. There are a few small nicks along the extreme rim of reel that would effectively be INSIDE the reel when installed so not a problem(PLEASE SEE PHOTOS! A Very High Quality Spool.
