Lubed with Corrosion-X and Cal’s Grease, and has new Smooth Drag Carbontex drag washers and new spool end ball bearings. It performs like a new reel with quiet gears and bearings, flawless level wind, loud clicker, good free spool, and smooth drag. It shifts reliably between free spool and retrieve. It looks good with very few handling scratches, and no rust or corrosion at all. If you want a truly superior reel for salmon, stripers and similar species, you simply can’t do better that a 7000 C3; these reels are*so* much better than the Chinese made Ambassadeurs being produced today. It features a collapsible handle and it is a fast retrieve. It has ball bearings. Line capacity is 300 yards of 8 pound test line. The gear ratio is 5.1:1. It weighs 14 oz. before packaging. Cosmetically the reel is very clean but shows normal wear, especially on the handle near the knob. Mechanically everything works great. These reels are not easy to find anymore. ABU Ambassadeur 2600 Reel in Display Box
Sometime around 1961.1962 ABU had replaced all of its older Record reels with a new line of reels about the same size. The new reels were jazzed up with some of the advancements found in the Ambassadeur 5000 reels, such as free spool capability. The Ambassadeur name was also added and the name Record dropped. This Ambassadeur 2600 reel is one of those reels. Instead of the free spool button on the rim. It's on the handle. This reel is in excellent condition. The spacers are in great condition. The endplates clean, the clicker is strong, but there is a little paint loss on the rims. It looks like someone tried to unscrew the handle nut with something other than an ABU wrench and scratched the paint. See 6th picture) The 2600 did not have serial or production numbers. Made in Sweden is stamped on the foot. The black box has a good bit of ... moreshelf wear and some of the labeling on both ends has been removed. Take a look at the 2nd picture to see the condition of the bottom. Overall. It's in good condition. The suede carrying bag is in excellent condition. An oiler and a wrench are also included. The HADDON rod. 6276 is 5 1/2 feet with Heavy Action, 2 oz. lures, 15 to 40 pound line. The set is old but appearance is good. Tube of oil with contents, and bottle of spare parts. Not certain of the exact age but believe the early 1960's or possibly before. No serial numbers on the foot. CONDITION: Reel is in good condition and working order with just a few light scratches. Leather case has some wear. The inside lining is separating on the inside top and some edges.
