Ambassadeur Red 4500 High Speed Fishing Reel 1978 EX+
This auction is for a beautiful vintage#4500 Ambassadeur Red High Speed 1978 bait casting reel made in Sweden. These reels are not easy to find anymore. Especially in this condition. Cosmetically the reel shows a tiny bit of wear on the edge of the side plate and one small spot on the bottom of the plate but mechanically it is like new inside and is extremely smooth. All of chrome is excellent and it has all of the original insignia. The number on the foot is 780300. You can see the condition of the item in the photos even though it is so shiny it was difficult to photograph. The reel is a part of my personal fishing tackle collection. In 2002. To commemmorate the 50th anniversary of the Record Ambassadeur reel, ABU released 1800 sets of two reels in a wooden presentation box. They were a reproduction of the Record Ambassadeur 5000 and a Morrum SX3600 IVCB. In addition, a limited number of the Morrum reels were issued. This auction is for one of those Morrum reels.T he Morrum reels are an outstanding example of the latest in technological advances in fishing reels. This reel is new in the special issue box. AMBASSADEUR 5000 ABU GARCIA BAITCASTING REEL This auction is for the pictured Ambassadeur 5000 collectible fishing reel. This reel is one of the older Abu Garcia Sweden made bait casters. This is a nice reel which looks good overall and works too. It has the rim mounted spool release button and a metal star drag. It is a used piece but still has nice side plates and rims with some boat rash and minimal scratches to the sideplates. The handle isn't the original and has the double knobs on it which are translucent red in color. The reel label has the words Abu Ambassadeur 5000 etched into the side plate of the reel. The foot bears the numbers 653307. The reel is mechanically sound. The level wind travels evenly across the worm. But has some sound coming from it. The drag tightens up and loosens up properly too. Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Lite Plus Graphite Fishing Reel, Sweden, for Parts
This Ambassadeur Lite Plus graphite fishing reel is right hand crank. The spool spins freely and the gears engage when the crank is turned. The level wind works fine. All internal parts seem to work as they should. The only problem with the reel is that the spool bearing cap on the right side of the reel was lost. For that reason only. It is being sold as a parts reel. The reel looks good all around with very few scratches or scrapes. The bearings and handle grips are tight. This Abu Garcia reel has seen very little use.

Swedish Ambassadeur 7, Upgraded w/ Ball Bearings, Carbontex Drags, Metal Caps
This auction is for a Swedish made Ambassadeur 7 that has been upgraded in a three important ways. First. The spool bushings have been replaced with ball bearings so cranks smoother, and has better free spool and will make longer casts than a stock Ambassadeur 7. Second, the standard drag washers have been upgraded with greased Carbontex carbon fiber drag washers so the drag is both smoother and stronger. Finally, the stock plastic end caps have been replaced with metal end caps so you can forget cracked and caps with stripped threads. The reel is in outstanding condition with no rust or corrosion, smooth gears, loud clicker and flawless level wind. It comes filled with new Trilene Maxx 25# mono. The paperwork(Owner's Manual) and spare spool are correct for this reel. But the box that it came in is for an Abu Lite Series reel. The XLT has a mechanical spool brake and a magnetic brake, a star drag, level wind, sealed stainless steel ball bearing, a Fast Cast thumb bar, and a bayonet left side plate for quick changing the spool. The Flippin' Switch is located on the top, right side. If you like Abu round reels, you'll really like this medium profile design. Up for bid is this VERY rare Abu Ambassadeur made in Sweden Foot number is 760100 pearl like handle grips on a rare bumble bee handle high speed sticker still attached. This real works great. Lined with I think 30lb braid ready to fish or put in your collection. A little story behind this reel. I made a friend a few years ago and he was fishing with this reel and me being a HUGE collector I just had to have that this reel in my collection and out of water. So after a few hours of bartering I ended up with this beautiful piece of fishing history. It has been in my collection ever since never fished by me but I did get a few cast in before it went into the glass box. Right handed, three screw reel with original leather case and the original parts box, oil and wrench, which is very rare to find all together. Chrome on this reel is excellent, reel is smooth. Numbers on the bottom reel seat are 433380. Writing on the side plate reads- Abu Garcia, No 5000, Ab Urfabriken-Svangsta, Sweden. Reel has some boat rash but still in excellent condition. Leather case on the outside is great condition and the inside as seen in pictures needs repair. All in all these reels are getting harder to find in this condition. This is a LEFT HAND crank reel. It is in absolutely perfect condition. It has the"Fast-Cast" thumb bar which I really like. I just couldn't get used to the left-hand crank so went back to my old reel. This reel has made just a few casts in fresh water. The gear ratio is 6.3:1 Four(4) stainless steel bearings. Line capacity with 12 lb. test is 205 yards. It currently is loaded with new 35 lb. test Cortland Spectron- about 110 yards.
