You are bidding on a vintage American Fork and Hoe Metal Baitcasting Rod with a patented SpeedLock Reel Seat. Made in Geneva. Ohio the rod measures 55” and is in remarkably good condition. The cork handle is intact and reasonably clean. The ferrule holding the rod tip to the handle is still very tight and comes apart with a pop. The line guides and their bindings are original and in good condition. The inside of the reel seat has the following stamped on it: Mfg. b y: The American Fork and Hoe Company Geneva. Ohio The bottom of the reel seat has“ Speedlock” Pat. No. 1534674" stamped on it. The cloth rod sock is original but not in very good condition. It would be difficult to find an example of this old rod in condition as good as this. With a little cleaning it would fit nicely into a collection. For sale is a Bass Pro Shops RCX 10HB“Rick Clunn” baitcasting reel. It has 8 bearings and it has a gear ratio of 6.3.1. The reel itself is in pretty good shape. Considering how old the reel is. There are a few small scuffs and scratches here and there but nothing that sticks out or causes the reel not to function. The biggest cosmetic issue is that there are two scratches on the reel handle. Some of the features of this reel includes a clicking star drag and a magnetic breaking system. This reel works great and has been oiled and greased recently. The original manuel and box aren't included. This reel is hard to find and has been out of production for several years, so here’s your chance to own one. This is an exceptional Abu Ambassadeur 5000 4 Screw Baitcasting Reel. Original 3.6:1 gear ratio. This should be considered in"collectable condition" Several weeks after purchasing. I brought this reel to the Abu Garcia booth at the 2012 Muskie Expo in St. Paul, Minnesota. This reel was inspected. Cleaned and lubed professionally by Chuck Brod of The Sportsman Repair Shop. Mosinee, WI. While disassembling this reel, he stated that it probably had never been used as it had absolutely no signs of any mechanical wear whatsoever. He also stated the handle may not be the original, but should not effect the reel's value. That's how good this reel seems to be. Upon hearing this, an Abu Garcia staff person offered me a Revo Toro for this reel on the spot. However. I declined at the time.
