Ahoy Mates! Catfish" Cummings has a very sweet"Daiwa Procaster Tournament PT33P" baitcasting reel up for bids! Reel has light wear mainly on side plate and crank handle is an Abu-Garcia- it looks very nice and seems mechanically perfect- super smooth! It has a cast control dial. A flippin' switch, 5 ball bearings, a hi-speed 7.1:1 gear ratio, it holds 130 yards of 12 lb. test mono line and it has a line memo, and it is fully spooled with about 12 lb. test line. Vintage J.C.Higgins "100" Model 537.28820 level wind baitcasting Fishing Reel
This old JC Higgins reel is in great condition. Stamped J.C Higgins"100" on handle sideplate. Opposite side has drag increase/decrease. On inside of spool it is marked Model 537.28820. All of this is shown in pics. But it was difficult to get good pics due to finish being so shiney. Handles are in great shape, no chips or cracks. This is an exceptional Abu Ambassadeur 5000 4 Screw Baitcasting Reel. This reel should be considered in"collectable condition" Several weeks after purchasing. I brought this reel to the Abu Garcia booth at the 2012 Muskie Expo in St. Paul, Minnesota. This reel was inspected. Cleaned and lubed professionally by Chuck Brod of The Sportsman Repair Shop. Mosinee, WI. While disassembling this reel, he stated that it probably had never been used as it had absolutely no signs of any mechanical wear whatsoever. He also stated the handle may not be the original, but should not effect the reel's value. That's how good this reel seems to be. Since then, it has been stored and not used. VINTAGE MAR-VEL MODEL FWA BAITCASTING SPINNING STAINLESS STEEL FISHING REEL
This is a vintage Mar-Vel model FWA pivot combination spinning reel manufactured by O'Brian Ind. of Hawthorne. California. Produced in the late 1940's and is made of stainless steel, plated foot& line guide, and bronze. The reel cast like a spinning reel and retrieves like a fly reel. Reel could be used for fly fishing. There is a lever on the reel foot to release the spool so that it can be rotated 90 degrees to cast, and then rotated back to reel in. The spool also rotates 180 degrees to allow right or left hand retrieve. The reel has a drag adjustment knob on the face of the spool. The drag is in good shape. On the crank handle side is an anti-backlash adjustment to avoid birdnests. No missing parts. Reel is fully functional. I used the reel and caught a under-sized striper with the reel.
