I'm selling my Shimano Caenan. The reel is in great shape and shows little sign of wear. I have had it for a year but don't really have much of a use for it. I did swap the handle though for one from one of my Abu Garcia's. I can't find the original Caenan one but I didn't care for the foam grips-the Abu handle is much better. The only thing wrong with it is the handle nut is stripped a bit I believe. If you tighten the handle down with it. It will work itself loose. But other than that, the reel is in awesome shape and is ready to fish. Up for bid is a vintage 1975 Ambassadeur 5000d bass bait caster reel foot number 750100 which means it was made January of 1975 first series. not a reproduction. it has the clicker for alert and whip lash setting preventor. it has paint wear and some scratches do to use. I received this from my father in law in 2003 and also heard the stories he had to tell about the bass he caught with it over the years. I myself have drug a many of bass through the cat tails and brush with ease. everything on the reel works great. like it did in 1975 i would say. figured i would let someone else enjoy it since i don't fish no more. father in law passed in 2011 and i just lost interest in the sport.I didn't get the case for it. For your consideration we have a nice vintage Abu Ambassadeur 5500 baitcasting reel. According to the plate/serial number(730501) This reel was manufactured in the 1970s in Sweden. Considering its age, it is in good pre-owned condition with expected signs of wear and tear. There is some scratching and scuffing on the side plates, but nothing I would consider critical. There is also a chip on one of the knobs on the side plate(see picture 9) but it is very minor and it does not affect the functionality of the reel. There also a generic screw missing on the handle which could easily be replaced. Besides these minor imperfections, the reel remains in good vintage condition. It is 100% fully functional with smooth reeling action. All in all, this reel is a fantastic find. Vintage Pflueger Akron 1894 Baitcasting Reel w/ " Box". **Very Clean**
This reel came from a bunch of things from my grandfathers estate. It is said that this reel was purchased before the war and used very little. It was common for him to send in his reels for maintainence after 10-20 years. The box shown is the one this reel was found in. While it is not a"reel box" It is very vintage(from OHIO) and was found with the other Pflueger reel(1893L) I have listed. My assumption is that they were both sent back together. Unknown when this"repair" was done but it was unused since it was sent back to him. While used. This reel is in great shape with all engraving sharp and crisp including the logo, model#s and patent. Cosmetically the reel is in excellent condition with vivid graphics on silver annodized side covers and a black frame. The only cosmetic concerns include a a couple of small scratches on the left side cover and a couple of small scratches on the edge of the right side covers. Despite this.
