New” Vintage 3-Piece Bamboo Fly Rod– 8’4” Beautiful rod! Each piece measures 33.75” This rod is made with bamboo blanks from a vintage Union Hardware rod from the 1940’s/50’s. The bamboo rod is now in great shape. I would say this rod casts best as a 5 wt. The rod includes a brand new tan Alpine rod sock. The bamboo looks new. No cracks or splinters. All pieces are straight and clean. I added a brand new high quality cork grip. I replaced the reel seat with a new uplocking Aluminum reel seat with exotic rosewood insert. I used brand new stainless steel guides with a line keeper. The old varnish has been removed and I re-wrapped the rod with jasper thread. The fund is being initiated around a generous donation from Lorraine Travers. We're helping keep her late husband Ed's fishing legacy alive and expose more disabled veterans to his beloved sport. This is a nice little classic fly reel. It measures 3 inches in diameter. And 1 inch across the width of the entire frame. The maker is unknown, but it is very similar to an ocean city 305. I used it on my 3wt glass rod so it has 3wt cortland finesse that I'll leave on it. The line alone is 65 new.

Script reads" Phillipson Peerless"5" Impregnated, 8' 4 1/4- Line#5" script at 100% this is a lighter actioned Phillipson Peerless- this rod seems like a 4 rather than a solid 5 weight. very nice- one exception is one tip is 1/3 inch short(the tip top must have been reset) some minor scratching on reel seat butt, light ridging as the grip has been cleaned, cane is excellent, wraps are very fine, all sections are equal and straight, ferrule fit is excellent(nice Phillipson pops) and ferrules are all tight to the wood. male ferrules show very little use. will be carefully packed for shipment. As mentioned earlier, this rod is lighter in the hand and lighter in action ... morethan other Peerless 8 footers that I have handled- a nice 4 or a very light 5 weight. Don't know a lot about this fly rod was found at a old house in the garage by the Little Red River here in Arkansas. Has these letter's and number on it: 9' 2 1/2 F. HCH or D and on the other side has Heddon. The reel seat locking nut is stamped"PAT. No. 1624052. It's a 4 piece set with a old looking cloth sleeve carry case that looks to be rough. NOTE:The rod itself looks to be in good condition for the age. Just has one eye that came loose as shown in the pictures. Sorry for any Camera Glare in pictures. Would make a great addition to any Lure Collection Or to USE IT to fish with.

This rod is perfect for casting small flies where you need a delicate presentation. Think size 16 or 18 dry flies and spooky trout. Like all bamboo flyrods, this one has a slower action, and it does not cast like a graphite fly rod. Once you get used to the action on this rod it is a joy to use. The guide wraps, cork grip, reel seat. etc. are all of very high quality. This fly rod also comes with a rod case made from a PVC pipe. Please Note: One tip is 2 inches shorter then the other, and both tips are not perfectly straight and have slight bows in them. These defects do not effect the casting ablilies of the fly rod. This English 2 piece. 9'6" bamboo fly rod made by E. Kerry of Lockton Pickering York with original canvas bag is a real stunner. Appears to have been made around early 1900s but I am no expert and trust the photos will enable serious collectors to accurately date its manufacture. E. Kerry seems to be a very rare English rod maker. An extraordinary example of state of the art rod making of the period and local. Both rod sections will be individually wrapped in foam, placed in the canvas bag, the bag wrapped in bubble wrap and then placed in a rigid plastic tube for shipment. Heddon Built "abbey & Imbrie" Bamboo 3pc Fly Rod! 9'
Refinished"Abbey& Imbrie" bamboo fly rod built by Heddon in the 1930's. This rod has two full length tips. One is original and one an old South a Bend model 323 tip wrapped to match the original. Vintage Heddon # 10 Blue Waters 8'6" 3/2 Bamboo Cane Fly Rod Ships Free!
A great rod from the Good Old Days of American rod-making. This Heddon# 10 was arguably the best $10 rod of its day. Heddon focused on rods for the working man. This was one of their least expensive. But it was still a solid value. Probably built between 1940 and 1952, from the dark jasper wraps. Marked#10-2F(ferrule size) HDH or E. All sections full length, marbleized white/brown tenite reel seat, original bag and tube. A nice little trout rod, probably saw some use, because cork grip is slightly soiled, otherwise excellent. Vintage Bamboo fly Fishing rod with original interlacing reed[ bamboo? case. Comes with 3 different size tips with 4 eyelets each. One middle section with 2 eyelets. Main section with one eyelet and the cork handle. I KNOW NOTHING. about this other than what I am writing here. Did not use it. The appearance is nice with all eyelets secure. No damage. At the tip of the bottom of the rod. A blue tip come off and looks like a small storage compartment or rod adjustment for the cork handle. Bear Creek Bamboo Fly Rod 6ft 3wt 1-piece MINT!
This is a 6 foot. 3 weight, bamboo fly rod built as one piece. It was built by Bear Creek fly rods in Colorado and I bought it new in 2004. I've only fished it maybe 3 times and have stored it upright in its tube. The rod has a beautiful flame finish and comes in a rod sock stored in a PVC tube built to hold it. Being a one piece rod. There are no ferrules to disrupt the bend of the rod during casting and it casts wonderfully. It is hard to photograph a one piece rod so if there are any other angles you would like to see I can take more photos. Let me know. BTW. Serial# on this rod is 02072- rod#2 from July, 2002. Everything about this rod speaks quality. I have fished this several times and have taken care with its handling. The previous owner did not use it but it has been handled. No issues other than a few light marks on the reel seat and some scratches on the tube. The cork is clean. The bag is perfect. Stephen Kiley is a bamboo rod builder in Oregon. The last time I saw him was at his shop and he was working on one of his lathes fine tuning a new design for a butt cap. He is an innovative builder making his own hardware and continually looking for new approaches to the art.
