For your consideration I am listing a gorgeous antique retored 3 piece split bamboo fly fishing rod with the extra tip. All four pieces are original to this rod. The rod is 9 foot long when put together.There is an old red agate eyelet at the end of the first section. At the ends of the two top sections are unusual brass eyelets. The handle is in perfect condition with a beautiful patina on the brass. All four sections are the exact same length. This really is a gorgeous rod. 14 day return policy. Rarely does a rod come available of this class. This rod was made 12/24/57 and sold in Manchester Vermont on 5/14/58 the rod appears to be not used. This is a numbers matching rod with both tips the same length.I put both tips into the rod they seat perfect they pull apart with a very nice pop. The matching tube is excellent no dents.The serial no. match the rod.7 1/2' Battenkill 4 oz. HDH that would be 6 WT. Double taper line today. RESTORED VINTAGE 9'6" 3/2 6.5OZ 8/9WT BAMBOO FLY ROD BID WITH CONFIDENCE YOUR COMPLETE SATISFACTION IS GUARANTEED! ClicPic Photos copyright © 2011 David Eisenhauer- do not use without permission. Partially restored 9 foot 6 inch. 3 piece with 2 tips, 6.5 ounce, 8/9 weight vintage bamboo fly rod. There are no makers marks or labels to indicate who originally made this rod- very similar in appearance to the St. Albans rods sold by Herters in the early 1970s. Rod has 5 agate guides on the butt and mid section and 4 American snake guides on each of the tip sections. Butt and mid sections measure 39 inches in length, both tips measures 38.875 inches long and have slight left hand sets. Ferrules are all tight and"pop" when separated. Rod appears to have been stripped, re-finished and re-wrapped with black-tipped red guide ... morewraps, black and red intermediates as well as"signature" wraps in the same color scheme on the butt section- I have no idea what the signature code might be. Tip guides are blackened brass and will have to be polished and re-coated to prevent line damage. Original reverse-wells cork grip is heavily soiled but in very good condition. There is a heavily finished black wrap at the base of the ferrule on the butt section that may have been done to tightened up the ferrule or prevent a split in the ferrule or the bamboo underneath it. This is a very decent looking rod that should provide quite a few years of additional service. It deserves to be fished rather than sit on a shelf someplace. Includes a new generic rod sleeve. No rod case or tube. I do not know who did the restoration work on this rod. Images should provide all the information necessary to make a reasonably intelligent bid on this lot. However. There is a South Bend decal and a partial 47-9 inscription. All sections measure 37” I would estimate the fly line weight at a six-seven. The 6 ¾” cork handle and South Bend lite lock reel seat are in good functional condition. There are three snake eye guides on the mid section. Two of which have been re-wrapped. There are four on the tip section and a stripper guide on the bottom section. The tip section is not original to the rod but it and all of the sections fit together perfectly when assembled. I meticulously stripped the old varnish. Refinished with four coats of spar varnish and completed it with high quality wood rubbing compounds. Vintage Fly Fishing Rod Folsom Bamboo Cloth Sleeve Cardboard Tube
Vintage rod belonging to my grandfather from back in the early to mid 1900s. Not sure of age. Looks to be in very good condition showing just light wear tho I am no fisherman so check the photos and ask if you have questions. Rod is marked Folsom in script letters along with some numbers that look like"1515-8 1/2' Rod comes in 4 pieces, one handle, one middle piece and two tips, one just about 6.5" longer than the other. In a nice dark blue fabric sleeve and cardboard tube. Fabric sleeve shows light wear. Tube has a crack in the middle, and is about 36" long and about 2" diameter. Primitive Antique 9' ft Bamboo Pan Fly Fishing Rod w/ Case Extra tip Needs TLC
Antique Bamboo Fly- Fishing- Rod(I am not a FisherWoman or an Antique Dealer) This was an old fishing rod left to me by my father. It is from the early 1900's. It would make a beautiful décor or it could also be restored. 9' ft. 3 piece rod with an extra tip extension that is missing the metal rod tip guide. Doesn't look to be broken just looks like it slide off. One Rod Guide is off and will be shipped with rod. All other guides are there and need to be restored because of the age of the rod the winding thread is fragile. Metal portions on rod and extensions have some oxidation from age. Carry case needs to be restored it is wood with a fabric material flaking off and the metal ends have some rust. No markings at all on the rod so I'm not sure who's the maker. The cigar shaped cork grip does show the beginning signs of ridging, but is structurally in very good condition. The reel seat is walnut with downlocking mechanism. The rod sock has a very small hole worn in the bottom where the rod has poked through, and can be very easily sewn closed. The ferrules fit very snug, and make a strong pop noise when pulled apart. NO. 2,114,107- MADE BY WRIGHT& MCGILL ROD CO. DENVER, COLO. U.S.A. and the label on the tube reads in part: GRANGER SPECIAL- GOODWIN GRANGER CO. DENVER, COLO. The specifications on the label have worn away and the CAUTION note is not completely readable. This fly rod measures 8 feet 6 inches and weighs 5.1 oz. and is in excellent condition appearing just very lightly used with no damages and no repairs that I can detect. It is very straight and the varnish looks original and is approx. 99% complete. There are no chips out of the cork and all 3 pieces are the same length. The sock is fine with a tiny hole in the mid section bottom and it shows some very light ... moresoiling. The tube has a small dent near the closed end and the cap may not be original but works ok. Up for bids is a very nice vintage Montague 9' 3/2 bamboo fly rod. I do not know the history but assume it has been refinished given its excellent condition. All sections are correct equal length at 36 1/2" All guides original with wraps tight. Ferrules all mate and disengage nicely. The red/black guide and intermediate wraps and dark brown color are very nice. Reel seat in great shape. Cork has a few small hook chunks missing and a flat spot(see pics) but still very clean. Also has hook keeper so wonder if that may have been added during refurbishment given the hook pits on cork? Both tips have slight set and tried to show in pics. Here is a vintage bamboo flyrod. My guess is that this is ca. 1950's or 1960's. No marks or any maker on it. Measures about 5/8 inches diameter at thickest point and about 1/8 at the tip. It has no handle. There are 3 pieces. About 48, 47 and 45 1/2 inches long, which makes the rod about 140 inches long when assembled. Very good condition. No cracks, bends or splits. I can find no markings of any kind that could indicate the maker of this fly rod but it is believed to be 1940s or earlier. This rod is in very good condition. The pieces fit together well. They have a tight fit and give a nice pop when pulled apart. The cork handle is intact. The adjustable sleeve for attaching the reel is in proper working order. It is very solid and fishable, I have owned this particular rod for over 24 years and have used it on several occasions including last season on the Truckee, and must say it still preforms wonderful. One tip is approximately ¼” short and the other approximately ½” short. Attention– they were professionally reset using their original Perfect Tip Company tip-tops. The very slight handicap in the length does not hinder the performance at all. The reel seat has a few small flaws. Dings, and scratches from mounting the reel and years of use. Reel seat mechanism is very smooth and secures the reel as intended. All thread wraps are tight and very well varnished. Cork handle has some repairs to flaws. Here is vintage 8 1/2' bamboo fly rod custom made for Whitney Sporting Goods in Denver. Colorado. It's labeled"Whitney's Creel Crowder. I'm not sure of the manufacturer or the date of manufacture. Somewhere between the 20s and 40s. It has what appears to be a bakelite reel seat. The ferrules, wraps and bamboo appear to be in good shape. There are a couple of very small scrapes on the varnish, but it doesn't affect the bamboo. The tip section has a slight bend. The other two sections are straight. The tip measures approx. 2 1/2' while the other sections are approx. 3' The cloth case is included. This is one of Horrock& Ibbotsons trade rods it is the same as a H& I Cascade the wraps are even the same color and reel seat is the same too. This rod is in very good shape and I can say it fishes great too. Hate to sell this one but I need to thin some rods out. This is an 8'6" 3 piece- 2 tip F. E. Thomas Special bamboo rod for a 6 weight line. The rod is in excellent refinished condition. The rod was beautifully refinished when I purchased it several years ago. And has only been fished a few times since. Rod weighs 4.5 ounces with 17/11 ferrules. I like it best with a WF6 line. Pre-1937 rod marked 31 inside 3 concentric circles on bottom of butt cap. Correct. Legible die stamp marking on butt cap. English twist guides with agate stripper. Tight fitting ferrules that pop nicely on separation. Grip and seat are excellent with no issues. Correct tube with nearly complete label. Tube has one ventilation hold drilled in cap and 4 holes drilled in the bottom. Original bag will be included. But shows wear and repairs. Vintage WWII Vicki Japan Split Bamboo Combo Fly/Spin Rod 8 ft/6 ft W/Orig Box

This is such a cool item. It is a vintage WWII era split bamboo fishing rod that converts to either an 8 Foot long fly rod-or- a 6 Foot long Spin Casting rod. It comes in its original wooden case and includes flies. Spinners and what have you. The rod itself consists of 5 sections, and includes two fly tips and a spinner tip. The cork handle comes off and turns around to convert the reel area from fly to spin. It has a small oval foil label on the box reading Vicki, with a Crown, and Japan on it. The same label is on the grip of the rod. It doesn't look like it was used but the plastic that usually would cover the grip is not on it so maybe it ... morewas used but if so, it was very lightly. The guide loops are all tight. The glue used to adhere them is a little sloppy in some areas. The boy who owned this wrote his name on the box. It looks like it might come off. One of the flip down clasps is missing on the box. There are some cracks and missing pieces on the box. There are some other numbers written on one end of the box, but I don't know what they mean. All of this is pictured. I did not see any other signatures on the rod. I understand that GIs often brought these home from the Pacific Theater during/after WWII. All of the sections measure 35” I would estimate the fly line weight at a three– four. The aforementioned cork handle is in great condition. The reel seat is missing a sliding ring and end cap. There are two snake ye guides on the mid and tip sections and a stripper guide on the bottom section. The rod fits together perfectly when assembled. The rod is beautifully wrapped in red silk with Leonard's signature wraps(as shown) The bamboo is sound. Clean, strong and excellent as is the separate butt section. The total length of the rod when assembled is 78 inches or 6.5 feet long. It can cast a heavy fly line, 7 or 8 weight plus, or if desired, could be used as a conventional rod with a heavy weight monofilament line and reel. The rod comes in its original bag. The handle is composed of heavy nickel silver fittings(in the range of what is known as"German silver" with Leonard's patented sliding ring real seat. Vintage 1950's Split Bamboo Combo 5pc Fishing Fly Rod With Divided Wooden Case
Up for bids is what I was told is a South Bend split bamboo rod in a great divided wooden case. There is just a little piece of a label left on it, so I do not know for sure who made it. I do know it is a very nice rod, with five sections. It looks like there are three different end sections, as there is an eye on the end of three pieces. The box is great also. With two sliding plastic covers on the top section, for storage of your flies or what ever. The rod pieces measure 32 1/2. 32 1/2, 32, 32, and 25 inches. The box is 33 3/4 inches long. The rod is in excellent condition, all sections are whole, guides are all in place, windings and varnish is in good shape, ferrules are nice and tight. The nickle silver reel seat is slightly tarnished and there is some ridging on the grip. Ernest Schwiebert Describes this rod in his book Trout Tackle Two. Mike Shay Bamboo Fly Rod
This is a Mike Shay"little Debbie" 6'6" 2 wt bamboo fly rod. Along with it I an Abel TR lite spooled with SYLK DT 2 wt fly line. This is a beautifully crafted rod by a great builder. The reel seat is a highly figured wood with a 1929 mercury head dime inlayed into it. I have used this rod twice and like most collectors of fly rods I want to thin out the herd for something else.
