VINTAGE MONTAGUE SPLIT BAMBOO ROD 9' 3 FLY FISHING ROD ANTIQUE POLE FISH W CASE
This auction is for a used Montague fly rod as pictured. This is in good shape for the year. I do see one eye missing as in the last picture. Other then that it does appear to be complete. But please check the pictures. I am not really familiar with these old poles and there are NO GUARANTEES OR RETURNS. There is some normal aging on this, but overall I feel it is in good shape for the year. It also includes the case as shown. This measures just over 9' end to end. This will ship UPS and will be calculated by your location. As per EBAYs guidelines and policy, I will only accept paypal as payment. I usually ship within 24 hours of cleared payment. VINTAGE ROCKY MOUNTAIN SPECIAL SPLIT BAMBOO ROD 8' FLY FISHING ROD ANTIQUE POLE
This auction is for a used ROCKY MOUNTAIN SPECIAL fly rod as pictured. I understand this was a special built and made pole. Please double check. I do make mistakes. This is in decent shape for the year. I do see one eye missing as in the picture. It appears as maybe the last few inches of the tip may be broken off and missing where the eye was supposed to go. Other then that it does appear to be complete, but please check the pictures. I am not really familiar with these old poles and there are NO GUARANTEES OR RETURNS. There is some normal aging on this, but overall I feel it is in decent shape for the year. The 3rd section of the pole is slightly bowed or bent as pictured also. It also includes the case as shown. This measures just under 8' right around 7' but that is because the end is broken as pictured. I understand it is originally ... morea 8' rod. C.1940's MONTAGUE "Pequa Tribe" 8-1/2', 3/2 Split Bamboo "Trade" Fly Rod w/Bag
Up for auction a rather Nice CIRCA 1940's MONTAGUE"PEQUA TRIBE" 8-1/2 FT. 3/2 SPLIT BAMBOO"TRADE" FLY ROD WITH CLOTH BAG. This was built as a"trade" rod by Montague Rod& Reel Company for the Pequa Works Fishing Tackle Co. of Strasburg, Penn. sometime just before or after WWII. The Pequa Works, makers of famous fish hooks for over 90 years, never produced their own rods but relied on makers like Montague and Horrocks-Ibbotson to supply them. The"Pequa Tribe" brand name was attached to several of the products they sold. Rod carries about a 98% complete"Indian Head-Pequa Tribe" logo rodshaft decal that is fresh and bright. Made of nice Tonkin cane and comes equipped with extra tip section, steel stripping guide, 9) snake guides, nickel silver welted ferrules, flip-ring hook keeper, metal ... morewinding check, Montague's"Titelock" screw-locking reel seat and a solid cork full-Wells grip. With close windings of green silk tipped in black, green decal and matching green reel seat spacer, it makes for a very handsome rod. There are 130 individual wraps. I would guess this rod would be rated as a 6 or 7 wt. Rod is in solid Fine condition for these, showing only light to moderate wear. Bamboo is perfect, with no splits, cracks or delamination whatsoever. All four sections are the correct length and are arrow-straight. Original varnish remains in good condition. Original wraps are all solid and complete. Guides and tip tops show light oxidation and would benefit from a good cleaning. All ferrules, hook keeper, winding check, cork grip and reel seat are in fine condition. Put up in a period bag, which is in Very Good condition, very solid and serviceable. A nice example of these wartime trade rods from Montague, ready to collect or be put right to work. To be sold with a very low starting bid and NO RESERVE. southbend Hexagon bamboo fly rod #' 359 8.5 feet - mint condition
Vintage southbend# 359. 8.5 foot length. The original finish remains bright and clear, this rod is of the hexagon type and has a very classic look. This belonged to my grandfather who was an avid fisherman. I'm told this rod dates back to pre WWII xue to the oval shaped name tag. The rod overall is in great shape! Well cared for, and it would seem seldom used if ever. It comes with original tube, and cloth sleeve. The cork handle is in fine shape, all eyes are intact. Rod comes in four sections( has to ends, or tips) The finish on the sections is mint and therefore is no need for restoration. This rod would be perfect for a collector. Or for display. Antique Vintage Ebisu Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod 2 lengths in one
This split bamboo fishing pole is pre WWII and is owned by our uncle who is in his 70's and was given to him by his father. It has not been used since he got it but has been stored. The pole has two different configurations. It has a tip for the formation of a 5 1/2 foot pole and two other pieces. A middle and tip, that forms an 8 1/2 foot pole. It can be configured for a spin cast or fly rod. It also has a spare tip for the longer pole. Please look at all photos as I am not a fisherman. Unfortunately we do not have the box. Here is little history on where the name Ebisu came from FYI. In Japanese mythology. Ebisu is one of the seven Gods of Fortune, said to be the god of fishermen, workingmen, and good luck. Is in as new condition some pictures show a bend but this is down to my camera not behaving as it should. Vintage EDWARDS Bamboo Fly Rod MT. CARMEL in Great Condition - No Reserve
Fantastic ESTATE SALE FIND. This is a VINTAGE EDWARDS Fly Rod"Mt. Carmel. I have taken several photos. The bottom section measures 38 5/8. The middle section measures 38 1/2. The top section measures 32 7/8. The total length is 109 1/4. There is a 3" space for attaching the reel foot. The handle above the reel area measures 5 3/4. It is engraved"Edwards Mt. Carmel" as you see in the photo. The Overall condition is VERY GOOD. There is 1/2" of Very THIN thread of the wrap loose as seen in the top section of the pole. It looks worse in my photo than in person. And can be easily re-wrapped. It is a 1/2" in length and THIN thread. There is varnish on parts of the metal on the bottom section of the pole. All the wrappings and eyes are in great condition. There is only the one condition which is the thin loose thread ... morein the top wrapping. Other than that, anything would be considered very minor wear. The Varnish has a Superb tone. This comes with the original canvas roll up and its aluminum tube. The aluminum tube is original and has the original decal. The decal is rubbed as seen. But you can still make out Edwards Mt. Carmel. And the tube is missing the end cap. Up for auction i have this nice 8 1/2' Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod. The reel seat says Folsom New York and the logo is half visible on the rod. Its a 3 Pc and has an extra tip. I do fish and have seen many bamboo rods so i know some warping is not uncommon but i was pretty surprised when i put this rod together because its very straight.The extra tip however has a pretty good bend at the tip. Both tip sections are missing the top guides. The first(largest) guide is bent and the thread is starting to un-winde. The reel seat has a slight bit of movement left to right when you twist it. You can see by the pictures.The cork handle has no chips out of the cork and the bamboo rods are in excellent condition. Everything is in great condition except one of the two tips is broken off at the end.This rod looks like it was only used a couple of times. It was found in it's original Canvas bag in a metal tube stored in a closet. The original owner must have bought it and gave up on fly fishing shortly thereafter as there was no associated tackle to be found. It's marked PAT APR 18 1938. PAT NO 2114.107, MADE BY GOODWIN GRANGER COMPANY, DENVER oposite the Rell Seat and GRAGER SPECIAL on the Bamboo shaft. I do not se any defects to call. Just signs of light normal use/ handling. The Cork is free of chips. The 4 Rod shafts are straight. The Guides are all there. Bright and original. The wraps are all tigght with no fraying and are complete. Heddon 9 ft split bamboo fly rod made in Michigan pre 1952. Excellent condition and all guides are intact. Also has extra tip. Original cloth cover is included. Fly rod was my grandfathers and has caught a lot of fish. Many many good fishing years still available with this rod. On Feb-16-13 at 21:17:47 PST. Seller added the following information: Edit: Several folks have asked about any writing above the cork handle. There are none. Either Heddon didn't write anything there or my grandfather wore it off from use. If Heddon didn't write anything there. Then it must have been from earliest days when they may not have. The cloth tag is fairly old as well. The wt and length are clearly seen, but it's hard to read the rest. I'll try to get a decent photo of the tag& post it Sunday. I acquired this Winchester rod from a fly fishing estate last year and thought that somebody could get some use out of it. Here are the specs: It has obviously been refinished. One set of ferrules have been replaced. It was originally a 9' rod and the sections measure 37" 36 1/2" and 35" The ferrules fit good and this rod would make a good bluegill or trout rod at an economical cost. VTG 14' LEONARD Bamboo Salmon Fly Rod Steelhead Spey
This beautiful 14' Leonard salmon rod was made back when men were men. I'm unsure if the fellas of today. That believe lighter is better, would attempt to use it on their favorite Atlantic Salmon river, but it sure would look and work good with a Vom Hofe 504 hanging from the reel seat! If not for use, it could hang from one corner to another in the man cave. This rod is in excellent condition, but will need a few things to make it perfect and it would not take much. Obviously a few guides are off, which means that the wraps are dry. Four of the five guides are present, you will need to find one to complete the set. One section is a couple inches short, not a big deal on a rod of this length. The tips are in perfect condition with all guides attached, most likely because of the tube that they lived in. The original owner did some ... moremicro-scribing on some of the hardware which gives it kind of a history. There is a lot of bamboo and nickel silver for the money on this rod. This rod comes with a very rare hang tag and original receipt, canvas sock, tip tube, and tip sock. The address on the receipt is only digitally removed. The original owner was a friend of Joseph Pulitzer's and fished some of the famous salmon rivers in Canada and Norway with him. I am selling some of his salmon flies from Hardy and Arseneault in other auctions. Shipping is $23.50 to the lower 48. On Feb-21-13 at 11:32:27 PST. Nice Montague Flash Bamboo Rod. Not perfect but is in perfect working order. Bamboo is mint nice and straight like new factory fresh, cork is mint, all sections fit nice, I did find a hair line crack in the ferrules in both tip sections only, very minor it took a magnifying glass to notice, all sections do pop out nice. The reel seat works perfect but has a crack as shown in pictures. Rod is 8'6" all section same size. Rod does have orignal sock and tube(less metal cap) will ship inside another tube for safety.

Vintage Wright McGill Granger Special Bamboo Fly Rod 9' 3 piece 2 tips 9050 NR
NO RESERVE AUCTION with Buy it Now Wright McGill Granger Special 9 foot 3 piece with 2 tips. All pieces equal length. This rod is in fantastic near mint condition. I have fished this rod and it is a 6 to 7 weight rod. I hate to sell it. But I have too many. I recently had the ferrules on the mid section re-glued and professionally re-wrapped. He did a great job matching up the thread and varnish. You can tell there is a slight gloss over the new wraps, but that can be dulled with a little steel wool if you like. Look at the pictures of the ferrules and see if you can tell. Otherwise, this rod is ready to fish everything is tight and like new in original condition. I hated to have the ferrules reglued because we had to cut the original wraps, but I wanted this rod to be fished, and i wanted to fish it. The tube has a dent in it and some scuffs ... morebut really a nice little aluminum tube. This is the real deal. If you want a nice collectable Granger that you can fish and not have to do anything to, this is the rod. Reel and fish not included in the one picture above. I am an honest seller. And my goal is to put these rods and reels back on the rivers and streams to be used rather than collect dust. I try to find good quality product and take high quality photos to let the buyer know what they are getting. I also try as best I can to let you know everything I know about the rod. The rod has been in storagefor decades but it does show some signs of use. There is about a 2” blemish ... morein the varnish about 4” above the signatureand it does need a good cleaning. I havethe original sock wrap but not the case. It has been stored in a 52” metal tube case that was not the original case. I will not be shipping the rod in the 52” case due to its length. Shakespeare Triumph 1305 T 8 1/2' 3/2 Bamboo fly rod
Selling my late 1950's Shakespeare Triumph 1305T bamboo fly rod. 8 1/2 feet in length. This original rod has never been fished. The cork handle, the ferrules, guides, and the real seat are in wonderful condition for a 50+ year old rod. All four rod sections are of equal length. There are no marks indicating that a reel has ever been fit to this reel seat. The Shakespeare decal is without a flaw. The rod belonged to a collector who took great care of all his rods. This set is a 3/2, with two tips. The second tip(spare) is a slightly darker bamboo finish, and the green guide wraps are a slight shade darker. The cloth rod sock is in very good condition. There are two small places where the guides have worn against the cotton material. Causing some light wear during storage. What a nice estate sale find! A Vintage Montague Flash 3 Piece Bamboo 9' Fly Rod in Good Condition. Comes with 4 sections(2 tips) Each section is Approximately 36" It appears to me to be in good. Straight- no warping condition. The Cork Handle and Reel Seat are in excellent condition. The Montague decal has flaked off a bit. As can be seen in the pictures. One tip section is missing the end line guide and the other tip guide needs to be replaced. It is rust thru. A guide in the middle and some of the guides have some surface rust. Old vintage bamboo fly fishing rod, cork bobbers, rock weights; very cool.
I found this rod and it might even be more than one rod because there is almost 200 inches of bamboo here(around 16 feet total) Look at the pictures because I literally have no idea about bamboo poles. One of the small pieces has a breach in it that needs to be repaired if one is to actually fish with it. Or you could just leave it off(it's the smallest pole piece) The hand points to it in one of the pictures. Also included is the old hardware on it.old hook is still on it and the bobbers are made of cork(pictured) There are markings on the rod but no name, so I have no idea who made it.

Vintage South Bend Bamboo Fly Rod 9' Bluegill Trout Bass
I acquired this South Bend rod from a fly fishing estate last year and thought that somebody could get some use out of it. Here are the specs: It has obviously been refinished and was done pretty decently with all sections measuring 36 1/2" The ferrules are a litlle loose but should tighten up to be fishable with a little parafin wax. This rod has a bluegill. Trout or light bass feel and would be a great way to fish bamboo at an economical cost. Shipping is $12.50 to the lower 48.

This Rod is 5'6" long and very old. I have had it for over twenty years as a wall display. I have tried to find the make. But no luck. It is a two piece bamboo construction. The reel has no markings on it to determine the manufacturer, however it is newer than the rod. This would provide someone else with a wall piece as it has for me. Need to rid ourselves of things, so this piece is a must go. This is not a business. This is. I think, Horrocks-Ibbotson cane. It was my intent to refinish this rod for one of my youngsters to use(but he is more interested in skiing with girls than flyfishing) and you'll need to refinish it before you can fish with it(if it were me, I might also re-set the ferrules, just for the comfort of knowing they're held on by modern glue) The cane is in good condition, and I straightened it; the ferrules are tight and"pop" nicely when separated; and the cork and reelseat are also in good condition. Both tips are a fraction of an inch shorter than than the mid and butt, but I believe they were made that way, because both taper to the same size. There is“Queen” inscription on the bottom section which would most likely indicate this is an H&I Tonkin Queen model. The bottom section measures 40” and the tip is 41” I would estimate it would load with a three weight fly line. The six inch cork handle is in very good condition. The screw down lock reel seat is also in fully functional shape. There are four snake eye guides on the tip section and an agate stripper guide on the bottom section. The rod fits together perfectly when assembled. Has the distinct pop sound when removed and is straight. I meticulously stripped the old varnish.
