This is a 9' split bamboo Fly Fishing Rod from the 1940s in the original case. After doing some research. I have found out that the original Reel and Cloth bag are not included, as well as some Tackle which was originally affixed to the cardboard insert inside the metal box. The rod itself however, is in excellent condition. It has two different top sections of the rod, one of them will need the top eyelet repaired, as it is loose. I am guessing this was used but it was definitely well taken care of, the finish and other ferrules on the poles are all in excellent condition. Phillipson Preferred 8' 3/2 Bamboo Fly Rod
Here is a fine example of a Phillipson Preferred bamboo fly rod. It is impregnated. All sections are full length and straight. The ferrules seat fully and smoothly and produce a satisfying pop when separated. The antique gold tipped black guide wraps are clean and sound. The full wells cork handle presents a slight level of ridging and the original reel seat has been replaced. By a previous owner, with an Orvis Battenkill style seat with what appears to be a walnut spacer. I believe these rods were first introduced by Phillipson in 1952 or 1953. The restoration was done with all original components. It was rewrapped in original South Bend issue orange and black varigatted threads. The red logo is 100% as is the rod label. On the"comficient cork handle" the foil label is missing. Note; comficient first was used in 1939 and stood for a combination of comfortable and efficient. It is a 2/2 rod-2 piece with 2 tips. It has the origianl uplocking metal lite reelseat. It casts either a 4 or 5 wt line with a nice medium action. This is from the descripton when I purchased it-as I have never put a line on it! Auctioning off a Real Nice Sport King M/27 Fly/ Casting Bamboo Rod and sock which is in excellent condition. This rod was hand made before WWII because after that Horrocks- Ibbotson didn't use the solid black reel seat. They used marbleized plastic. The windings on all the sections are great, same with the varnish and Tonkin cane. The handle is used on both ends, one for the fly rod and the other end for the casting rod. Making it well over 100 years old. This rod is complete with the inside storage tube and outer cloth. This is a classic well made rod. 100% original in all respects. Stored in a safe for many years. A recent estate sale purchase. A vintage South Bend 8 1/2' Bamboo Fly Rod with its original cloth bag and a mailing tube(I can't tell if the tube is original to the rod, it's in poor condition) It's a three(3) piece rod with an extra tip. The rod is marked Model 47- HCH or C. The wrappings are different colors so I'm guessing it was re-wrapped at some point time. The extra tip has a slight bend. I don't know what else I could tell you about this rod but if you think of something please feel free to ask.

There is a really cool six inch wooden handle that is great condition. The sliding ring reel seat has a hairline crack but it is fully functional and mounts a fly reel perfectly(see pictures) There are two snake eye guides on the mid and tip sections. Five Classic Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod Sections For Parts
All of these sections are in very good condition. All three tip sections have very slight fishing sets. The butt section is 34 3/4" long. It has a gray plastic downlocking reel seat. An agate stripper guide and one snake guide. The cork grip has been shaved. The mid section is 32 1/2" long. It has been stripped of its hardware. The longest of the tip sections is 42 1/2" long. It has three snake guides, no tip-top. The next longest is 34 3/4" long, has two snakes and a tip-top, looks like it may match up with the butt section. The shortest tip is 33 3/4" long and has three snakes and a tip-top. All of the ferrules are in good condition, no cracks.

I have fished this rod one time. Standing mid stream. I could roll cast just about as far as I could single haul. The rod is quite simply amazing. It comes with an aluminum tip tube, separate rod sock for the tips, and is ready for you to fish right out of the box. VIintage Antique Bamboo Fly Rod Fishing Builder Unknown - For Restoration-Repair
This auction is for a used vintage bamboo flyrod. A case/holder is included. The rod measures 8' and has three sections with an additional tip section. This one is for restoration only. The reel holder section and one tip section show gradual deflections. There are numerous guides that are missing and loose wrappings. Also note that the case does not fit the handle properly(see photo) I thought I would be able to identify the builder because of the unique handle/reel mount assembly and still cannot determine who the builder is There are no builder markings. Nice 7ft Tonka Prince 2pc bamboo fly rod
Rescued from the dust bin. This HI Tonka prince 7' 2pc has been competely rebuilt. Its saving grace was the beautiful flamed cane that was still perfect. The decal and Tonka Prince inked name were miraculously intact. Now preserved. These rods in good original condition usually sell for 150- 200 bucks. In rebuilding this rod, I gave it the same care I put into a custom rod. Only the best available parts were used. It had a busted reel seat, crumbling cork, missing guides, broken wraps and a cracked ferrule. A real mess. It has a new aluminum reel seat( to keep the cost within reason) premium cork grip, CSE step down ferrule, Snake brand guides/tip top and Strubel agate stripper. The new silk wraps are the original factory color. Three coats of Man-a-War spar varnish hand rubbed to a beautiful sheen, the flamed cane really catches the ... moreeye. The cane is in excellent shape, butt section is 42" and top measures 42 3/4" I believe it is worth the extra few dollars, it has gone from a production rod to a high quality rebuild and will last for many more years. The action is medium fast, a double taper 5wt will fit it nicely. Comes with a new bag. This would make a nice starter rod. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful Heddon 125 Expert bamboo fly rod with bag/tube
Beautiful Heddon 125 Expert with bag& tube. 9' three section fly rod. Marked#125-9'2¾ F-GBG or C It has had some minor restoration work done. Two missing guides were replaced and two deteriorated wraps were restored to original and nearly invisible(as per Michael Sinclair guide) Finish is in excellent near show room condition(a couple of tiny rubs) and required only a light cleaning. The cane is perfect. Not even a blemish and great color. All sections are of proper length 36 1/2" Fit and finish of the ferrules is excellent, rock solid. Reel seat is in excellent shape as well as the cork, they were not touched, I doubt this rod was ever fished, guides show only very minor soiling. The bag is the original blue bag with tag, it has a small repair and a tiny hole where a tip poked through. The Heddon tube, however, is not ... moreoriginal, it is marked 115. It is in very good condition. This is a gorgeous example of a Heddon fly rod of the 1947 to 1952 period. These were made for Sears, but Heddon insisted they keep the Heddon brand name. They were top of the line, Heddon's finest cane and fittings.Take a close look at the pictures, this is one of the best examples of a Heddon Expert I've ever seen. Would make an excellent addition to a collection or for someone who wants to fish one of the best Heddon produced.

For your consideration is an Orvis Flea. 6' 6" 2/1, 4wt, impregnated bamboo fly rod. 56561 Excellent condition. This rod has been lightly fished and cared for. Tube and label is in excellent condition. Built with one tip(see label) Sock has a slight tear from a ferrule poke through(see photo 3) I purchased this two years ago from someone that had not fished it since 1976. The ferrule had a slight tick- fit was a little loose. I sent it to Orvis and Charlie Hisey recommended replacing the ferrules. Except for the Orvis factory replaced ferrules. This is 100% original. A fun rod to fish with a progressive taper. Wes Jordan developed this taper in the early/mid 60's in response to William Mills& Son wanting a short. Light weight fly rod. HEDDON BAMBOO FLY ROD MODEL#13. LUCKY ANGLER” This is a 9’ Heddon#13“Lucky Angler” with the Pyralin reel seat and the half-Wells grip. According to Michael Sinclair’s excellent book on Heddon rods. This model was made only for three years from 1936 through 1938(p.130) Rod has orange silk wraps tipped black. NS ferrules with rolled welt, agantine stripper, and blued steel snakes. Ferrules are 18/64” and 11/64” with tips 5/64” below the tip-top wraps. Marked on butt shaft. Heddon” and“13” S ections are 36 5/8” but the butt is 1/8” short from re-setting the female ferrule. Bag and tube don’t look original to me. CONDITION The cane appears all original. Finish is original and good with some evidence of use but NO HEDDON VARNISH MELT. The wrap on the butt ferrule has been replaced with correct orange silk. The cork has been cleaned with no ridging ... moreand protected with a plastic sleeve. There is a little fishing set in each tip. All in all. This is a nice rod in very good condition for a pre-war piece. Heddon 13s are not often seen. At least in this neck of the woods. I picked this up at an Estate Sale a few weeks ago as seen in these photos along with a large lot other fishing and outdoor camping gear. After close inspection I noticed writing/stamping on Butt/Handle section very faintly reads: Edwards” on one of the flat sides. Same as stripping guide is attached) See photos#5-A and#9 F- with the aid of a jewelers loop it appears to be F- 5 on the other flat side hex below the word Edwards? See photo#5-B I apologize I can’t quite read all of the letters in the writing. They appeared to be pale white/yellow ink that is very badly worn and mostly gone however words appear to have faded onto cane. Please note: Another identifying mark is the letter“F” clearly stamped into the very end cap of the reel seat(see photo#3 Lower Right) Not sure if this has any clue to better identifying this rod. I will do my best describe the condition. However PLEASE refer to all of the photos furnished. Both pieces are in great shape they measure exactly 48 7/16” each. Very straight when together, appears to have been professionally restored/refinished back in it’s past, varnish is extremely nice, very smooth, there is no apparent signs of damage to the cane. There are some glue lines present. All of the threads(silk? holding the line guides/eyes and ferrules are tight and appear to be in exceptional condition, NO discoloration, NO fraying or coming apart. Unsure if wraps are original, ALL look really good. Cork grip is very nice however does have a minute chip near the winding check as seen in photo#8. The grip is what I believe a Cigar Style that is 6¼” long. Reel Seat is also very nice, it has a few very minor scuffs and marks on the insert
