In very good used condition, 3 pieces 12'0" in length. There is one eye fit onto the end. No damage! In excellent condition everything intact and ready to go. I did not try to force it together but did clean off oxidation off one end and it was still hard to get onto other end. Probably just needs a good cleaning. If you have any questions. Vintage bamboo fly rod. Allcocks, 2 piece.
Two piece bamboo rod; Allcocks President. Made in England. Intermediate wraps indicate this is a rod with some age on it. Guides are in great shape. Some of the intermediate wraps are missing or fraying. Butt section is 44 inches. And about an inch longer than the section with the tip. Bamboo handle has some nicks, but overall in fine condition for its age. Please see the photos for additional detail. I am not an expert in bamboo rods.

Nice and straight and tight with perfect seams, 2x2 node spacing, rust wraps, some light hand wear on the ferrule finish but with excellent ferrule fit and pop. Butt and tip section equal lengths. A very nice dry fly action; quick and responsive for those tight spots or pocket fishing in general. Looks to be a very successful Catskill taper; though it came from the Letort area of Pa. This auction is for a post world war II vintage five piece split bamboo fly and casting rod with a wooden Olympic storage box. On the outside of the box is a sticker that says"Open. your Lucky Box" It was manufactured by Ueno Seiko Co. LTD Japan and has stickers stating"Made in occupied Japan" It can be used as a 8’ three piece fly rod(with extra tip) or a two piece 5 ½’ casting rod. All sections measure 32 ½” There are 2 very cool sliding doors that reveal compartments within the 34.5X3.5X2.5 inch storage box that contain original decals. 13 hand tied flies, 3 bobbers with bell, a leader holder and 3 snelled hooks. The rods, lures, flies and bobbers were made by ARAI, ASAKUSA. The six inch cork handle has an up lock screw reel seat are in great condition. On the end is a green rubber bumper that pulls out to ... morereveal an empty space inside the handle to store extra flies. There are two snake eye guides on the mid section. There on the fly rod tips and two on the casting tip. There is a stripper guide on the bottom section. The bottom section and casting tip are all in very good condition and fit together perfectly. The mid and tip sections have a tight fit although they do engage fully(see picture) It will not affect the casting or use of the rod. It is made for freshwater and salt water fishing. The bamboo cane and varnish finish look to be in their original condition and are gorgeous. The wooden storage case has some water stains and 1 latch is not working. All of the accessories are in good condition. The casting action on the fly rod is incredible! It has a classic wispy bamboo cane action. Wait until you try it. This is a vintage(est. 1940's) Ebisu Brand Fly Fishing/ Spin Reel combo with wood box. Flies, lure and bobbers. There are six pieces to the fishing rod, the handle is made of cork and measures 10.5" the extension piece measures 23.5" and the 3rd piece for the flyrod, the spin tip, and both fly tips measure 33" all of the pieces are in very good condition and look as if they have barely been used. This is one of the nicest South Bend 323 bamboo rods that you will ever come across. It appears to have been unused and even the sock is still semi stiff and mint condition. With it being an HDH rated rod. Which is equivalent to a modern 6, it is a trout weight rod that would be a blast of an alternative to your graphite rods. NOTHING needs to be done to it like most bamboo rods. None of the guides need to be re-wrapped, no varnish work needs to be done and the ferrules are a perfect fit with a lovely pop upon release. James Beasley"Leonard 50DF" 8'0"5-3/2 bamboo fly rod. This rod was originally made for Dan Seals. A country singer, in 1994. At one point, the mid section was broken and repaired. The mid had a scarf joint by Wes Cooper. I will include the original mid with the auction. When I took ownership of the rod, I found it to be an excellent casting rod. Very smooth and with the right amount of power for a DT5F line. I did not like the repair that was previously done, so I sent the rod to Steve Blake. Steve had the mid replaced by Chapman, a great match. Those who are not familiar with Chapman bamboo blanks. they are a well established split cane maker in the UK and their cane work is as good as it gets. Steve replaced the Swiss ferrules with original Leonard ferrules, the reel seat was replaced, and the rod was re-wrapped and finished. ... moreI have not used the rod since it has been returned me, hence the sale. The rod has a nice original rod bag, and a brass capped rod tube, the brass hardware has a lovely patina. The rod is straight, full length, the ferrule fit is correct. the rod is ready to fish and has no issues. The 50DF is a great taper and James Beasley did an outstanding job with his version. This auction is for a 1930's antique bamboo fly fishing rod in the original storage sock. Marked on the label: SOUTH BEND BAIT CO. SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, MADE IN U.S.A. ROD NO. 55- LENGTH 8 1/2' and marked on the rod: SOUTH BEND- 55/8 1/2' Please zoom in on all pictures for details. This antique bamboo fly rod has 3 sections the same length and when assembled it is straight with great action and measures 8 1/2' and it weighs 6.2 oz. Overall for the age it is in excellent condition in my opinion appearing only lightly used with 1 minor detail of the first line guide front tab on the 2nd section has slipped from underneath the thread wraps and was inserted back underneath just a few threads. All other thread wraps are in fine condition and I see no other flaws, repairs, or abuse. It has a spring tight cork cushioned line holder ... moreon the end by the reel seat, an extra I have never seen before. The sock is also in excellent condition with no holes or tears and is a little soiled from storage. The sock has just 3 sleeves so I do not think this rod ever had an extra tip. There is a Milwards decal and an inscription on reel seat butt cap which reads Vicard Lyon Imported Angleteere. The rod was manufactured in England and then imported into France based on these inscriptions. This is a heavy duty rod that can indeed be used as spey rod for big trout and salmon. The rod is its original excellent condition and I believe it was made in the early 1900’s. The 17” wooden handle appears to be made of Mahogany. The ferrules and reel seat components are all high quality brass. There a total of six eye guides and a tip top eye. The rod fits together perfectly when assembled. The tip section is original ... moreto the rod as that how these rods were manufactured. Milwords& Sons by the mid 1800’s the company had become on of Great Britain’s finest tackle establishments winning 30 medals at various exposition and international trade shows between 1853 and 1922. It measures 8 1/2' and is 4 1/2 ounces. Inscribed on the rod shaft as a 5/6WT(HDH or E) line. Only 0.5% of bamboo was good enough for the Heddon President grade of rods. Made in Heddon’s“Handmade Rod Department” where all rods(Model 20 and up) were crafted by a single rod maker. This rare#50 President is in very good+ condition. The rod is clearly marked on the shaft: Heddon Deluxe President. 50- 8 1/2' 2F- HDH or E" The ferrules are rock solid and the sections seat/ unseat together nicely. Only some very slight marks on the deep black enamel. All sections are straight. The rod has gold thread tipped dark green. The rod appears to have had the mid and ... moresingle tip restored at some point, and the butt section appears to have just had the ferrule re-wrapped. The butt section may have also had a varnish overcoat at some point in its life. Reel seat is nickel silver over walnut and is in excellent condition. Cork is excellent. W&M Granger Victory Bamboo Fly Rod 8 1/2' 3/2 8642 Fishable Condtion Beautiful
Up for auction is a beautiful Wright and McGill Granger Victory in fishable condition. I am the second owner of this rod and I don't know if the rod has been restored. The shafts are all the same length and seem very straight for a 50 to 60 year old rod. This rod assembles great and all the ferrules fit snug and have a nice pop when pulled apart. Four guides are present on the tips and none of the guides have rust on them throughout the rod. The cork grip is actually pretty clean. The original cardboard rod tube is in great condition and the tube has a collection of scuffs and some dings. The rod label looks great on the tube I would rate it 85% for a paper label that's approximately 50 to 60 years old. I glanced over this rod and could not find any glue separations and the minor chips are in the varnish and not the bamboo. Bid with ... moreconfidence. I will assure you will not be disappointed. Vintage Orvis impregnated bamboo fly rod "99" 7 ft. HDG (6) 2 pc.
this rod is a very nice"99" from my collection.assembled this rod is seven feet. Unassembled the tip is slightly longer by about 3/8 on an inch not counting the tip top hoop itself. Not uncommon for these rods. The action of this rod is faster than other six weight Orvis bamboo rods that I own or have owned. It has a light tip that transistions into a fairly powerful butt section. Usually these rods are kind of tip heavy but this one has great balance. The previous owner told me he contacted Orvis and this is what they said: this rod was made by Cal Skinner and George Reid on February 18th 1964 but was never listed as sold. They added that it had never been back for repair or refurbish. As far as the rod goes. Other than the"Orvis impregnated" needs re scripting the rod looks incredible. the tube is dented. The label is ... morein good shape. This may not be a collectors dream. but as far as a small stream fishing tool goes, it doesn't get much better. Made from pre embargo cane, the super z ferrule s pull apart with a pop. The tip guides are tied opposite a gentle rise. This is done to make the rod have less droop and cut down on parasitic line drag. This rod casts and catches very well with either a five or six weight line. A lot of fun. Orvis was always tinkering with different tapers so who knows what the real story of this rod is. Possible test rod or internal employee gift? Hard to say. Worsening peripheral neuropathy is causing me to part with some rods and reels lately and this is one I have struggled over letting go. PayPal only. Orvis 2 Piece Madison 8' 2 Piece Impregnated Bamboo Fly Rod - Hardly Fished!
Up for auction is an Orvis Madison impregnated bamboo fly rod-GBF 8 weight. Eight foot- 2 piece. 4 3/8 oz. The rod appears to been fished only a few times. Cork handle shows no marks, just a tiny, tiny bit darkened. The bamboo and guides are perfect as is the wood reel seat. Comes with cloth sleeve and Orvis aluminum tube numbered to the rod. Serial number 59492. Tube has a few little dings and scratches. Unmatched quality for salmon and large trout.

This is an Orvis Model 99 Impregnated"99" 8 1/2 ft 5 1/2 oz. The rod is in excellent condition. No cracks. Blemishes, fraying, etc. It was used because you can see where the reel sat against the aluminum. The rod is really in very good condition. The tube not so much. Vintage bamboo fly fishing rod. Marked"Edward's Quadrate# 56-8822. According to information I found on line. This rod probably dates from the 1950s. The site described a number 56 rod as a"stiff dry fly rod" for a number 6 line. Rod is nine feet long and is a three section rod, with two tips- four pieces total. Each piece measures about 3 feet long. Edward's label on metal rod tube identifies the rod as a nine foot, 6 ounce rod. Cloth rod sock has some damage. Rod has a bit of rough finish on the large ends of sections- please read my condition description and inspect my photos for details. For sale is a 7 1/2 foot Horrocks and Ibbotson"Princess" Bamboo Fly Rod. the books are for atmosphere) This fly rod is ideal for fishing small to medium size trout streams. The bamboo is flamed. The rod is a very nice casting fly rod with a 5 or 6 WT line. I perfer a 6 WT line with this fly rod. It loads beautifully when casting in close while fishing those small Brook Trout Streams. But has the backbone to strech it out when you need to. I believe the swelled taper at the butt section enables it to do that so nicely. The rod comes with a new rod bag. Back in the day. Co. Heywood Zepher two piece 6 ½’ split bamboo fly rod. There is an inscription on the bottom section. I would estimate it would balance with a four– five weight fly line. The 6 ¾” cork handle and up lock screw reel seat are in very good functional condition. There are a total of six guides three of which have been professionally rewrapped. The tip top eye is also new. The rod fits together perfectly when assembled and has the distinct pop sound when removed. I meticulously stripped the old varnish. Refinished with three coats of spar varnish and completed it with high quality wood rubbing compounds. The ferrules have been buffed ... moreand polished. The light brownstone colored bamboo cane and varnish finish are spectacular. This beautiful fly rod would be perfect for those brushy small creeks and streams fishing for those wild trout. This is a beautiful and genuine vintage Heddon bamboo fly fishing rod from the 1950's. Included are all three hexagonal rod pieces with an extra tip configuration. The eyelets have the original black wrap. None of the eyelets is missing or damaged. Besides the Heddon signature, the notations on the rod are#17-8 1/2 1 3/4 F HDH or D.
