The Boron X rod and its story. Vintage Fenwick usa. Eagle stamped heel. All is good with this rod. This is the Walleye rod to enjoy in a stout medium action with the sensitivity that Boron X provides and strength that allows for the perfect yield in a live load situation. This rod has moderate backbone but does not feel too stiff to be ungraceful it is definitely the rod to tie in with on a large night stalker Wally but adapt it to other needs as you may see fit! The Boron X was built by hand and designed by Jim Green for Fenwick in the 70-late 80s timeframe. Taken from an interview between Andy Dear and Jim Green. Up for auction is a two sided plastic tacklebox with built in handle. This is a used item with some scratches and wear evident. One of the photos shows some cracking around one of the hinges. TWO Fenwick techna AV - MADE IN USA, FIRST BATCH 1998
Two Fenwick Techna AV rods. Both in great condition. One is the casting version, the other is the spinning version. Both are 6 feet, 6 inch medium fast action. These are from the batch made in 1998. MADE IN USA with the higher line pound ratings. The later versions list the spinning rod as 6-12 pounds. But this one is rated for 6-15 pounds. Condition of the rods. Casting AVC 66 MF is in 9.95 out of 10 condition. If there are any marks. They are tiny. Cork and guides are in excellent condition. Spinning AVS 66 MF is in 9.8 out of 10 condition. A scratch towards the label area. But nothing major. Cork and guides are in excellent condition. Please note that I will add an additional 20 dollar charge to the suggested shipping rate. These will be shipped in a VERY thick wall(1/4 inch heavy duty roll board) which is far sturdier than the classic ... morePVC tubing that most people use. Expensive to get. But well worth it considering that the rods will arrive very well protected. The auction is for both rods. Bid accordingly as a pair like this rarely come up. Up for auction is this vintage 1959-1960 Fenwick Feralite FF85 two piece fly rod with the original cardboard tube and cloth bag. Writing on rod reads- Fenwick Feralite. Hand Lettered) FF85, 8 1/2ft, 3 3/4 oz, DT8F, Feralite. LOW-Serial numbers are A4462. I have sold a lot of Fenwick rods and have never had or seen serial numbers this low before, a very rare find. Rod comes with a cloth bag and Fenwick cardboard tube. The hand lettering was started in the late 50s, then Fenwick started in the A thru Z alphabet for the year rod was made, letter A was 1960-1961, B-1962-1963 and so on. Rod, bag and tube are in near mint condition for the age of these items. This is a PayPal only to the United States. There are 8 pictures Offered for sale is an absolutely outstanding Vintage Fenwick Casting Rod. The model is FS79C Rated for 6-15 lb line- 1/4- 5/8 oz Lures- rod weight is 5 oz. EXCELLENT PLUS condition for a USED rod and it comes complete with the Fenwick tube(end label is gone on tube but fits the rod perfectly) The rod sleeve may or may not be original to the rod-some fraying to the stitching on the rod sleeve. Very. Very little, handling on the cork handle. The rod could not have been used much. Serial number R 211695 makes the rod a 1977 production year from my information on dating Fenwick rods. Collector quality fishing rod or probably one of the very best drift boat"pluggin rods" for steelhead you can own. Pictures show what you are getting If you are going to use the rod I can think of several different reels that would ... morebe perfect- Some vintage Abu Garcia Ambassadeurs would work-how about a 5500C from the 1970's. Rod was designed for 10-20# line and 1/2 to 1 oz. lures. Rod is in excellent. Excellent, little used condition with minimal signs of use.with the exception of some minor corrosion on reel seat(from saltwater is suppose) Rod cork handle, reel seat, eyes, eye wraps, ferrule and tip- as well as finish are great. Up for auction is this Rare Vintage Glow Stick Fenwick Feralite FF85-3. Three piece fly rod with the original cloth bag and metal tube. Writing on rod reads- Fenwick Feralite, FF85-3, 8 1/2ft, 3 3/4oz. Serial number under the Eagle logo is- C15583. This is the old glow stick thin wall blanks. The rod has some condition issues as seen in pictures, sadly to say at the first feral, it looks like it was crushed or stepped on, you might be able to do a wrapping of some kind and there is nick at the end of rod, I hope someone has the ability to repair this rare rod. If not for those two issues this rod would have been mint. There is staples at the end of cloth bag which would be easy enough to sew. This is a PayPal only to the United States.
