Fenwick Spinning rod 8' 3" Excellent condition w/Fenwick case!
This rod is an Fenwick 8' 3" spinning rod rated for 1/4-5/8oz. lures and 6-17lb line. The rod is in excellent condition and has been used very little. I purchased the rod from an older gentleman who takes very good care of his equipment. It just didn't fit my fishing style and has been in my closet for about 5yrs. The Fenwick case that it comes with is not for this exact rod I believe it to be quite a bit older than the rod and it is not in nearly as good of condition I would consider it fair in condition. The cap snaps on securely but the plastic hinge is broken this in no way affects the functionality of the case. the case has no cracks or anything like that its just been well used. The rod however is in my opinion perfect and ready to go fishing. You will not be disappointed with this fishing rod! Again this item is used and ... morebeing sold as is. Mint condition. Very high quality Fenwick Fly rod at an incredibly low starting price and no reserve. The rod is as new, complete with the dark green Fenwick sleeve and the aluminum Fenwick shipping tube. The tube shows handling marks but the decal is still intact and readable. Was a Spanish explorer, important in Texas history but I do not know if this cattle brand was used by him. Set in gold-plated sterling silver(vermeil) The stylized animal head, which reminds me of a Teddy Bear: is raised so it stands out sharply against the slightly recessed and darkly oxidized background, for a most striking effect. The border of the links frames them like a painting, setting off the design and giving them a finished look. Measuring about 11/16" square and weighing in at 15.1 grams. They are substantial and well made. This is a HMG GRAPHITE FENWICK GFF 906 Fly Fishing Rod in SUPER NICE CONDITION- you can slightly tell it has been used some with the biggest indication being a little staining on the cork handle. It is made in the USA. It comes with tube as shown(looks to be lined on the outside with leather. But I am not an expert so I can’t say positively that it is leather, but looks to be leather to me) Also comes with a nylon sleeve as shown. The tube shows a mark or two, but this is only cosmetic and nothing of any concern. Also, the ends of the tube have had scotch tape on them for some reason, but I would not know why as there doesn’t appear to be anything wrong with the ends of the tube. This rod is designed for AFTMA LINE NO. 6 and is 9 Ft. long and weighs a mere 3 and 3/4 ounces. There is even the Grizzly logo on the rod and at the end of rubber pad on cork handle. Rod has a couple of scratches as seen in pictures. But rod is still in excellent condition. I purchased this rod new in about 1985. I had joined a fishing and hunting club on the Round Out in NY State to go deer hunting. One of the members was an avid fly fisherman and made custom bamboo rods. Gus Nevros. Gus urged me to fly fish and since I did not have any equipment. Gus took me on a world wind shopping trip on Long Island to get ALL the required items. Gus must have tried 20 or more rods in over 4 stores to select this one. It has great action and feel. Classic Fenwick FF84 Fiberglass Fly Fishing Rod 8 1/2' Feralite Ferrules 2/1
This classic Fenwick rod is in good plus. Very good minus condition. There are minor scratches on the rod shaft and the tip is 1" short, which would not affect rod action. This 4 ounce rod is designed for line weights 5 or 6. The serial number is G122420. The grip and anodized aluminum reel seat are in very good condition, but the butt cap is missing. No bag or tube. An excellent fishing tool for the fiberglass fan. Sorry, no international shipments because of package length limitations.
