The rod is a single piece measuring 7'6" from the handle to the tip and it is fitted with cork handles and even has tiny flakes of glitter added into the guide wraps. Up for auction is a Fenwick HMG Fly Rod. I got this at an estate sale and only know what was told about it. It is a GFF 906 9' 3 3/4 oz. AFTMA LINE NO 6. It also has on the side the Eagle with the name FENWICK across the front on him and then it has HMG GRAPHITE. The upper shaft has 7 eyes and the lower part has 3 eyes. The cork handle and the reel seat are in Perfect condition The people that I got this from said that the second eye from the butt has been retied but it need to be done better. They said that this did not effect the action of the rod. The rest of this rod is in VERY CLOSE TO MINT CONDITION. There is NOT A THING WRONG with the other eyes or the part that holds the reel or the handle. It goes together and comes apart smoothly. I was told that this is also an Older Rod but I'm not sure. Fenwick Matrix Spinning Rod Here is a unusual Fenwick Matrix Graphite spinning rod. Clearly marked"Fenwick Made In USA" and"Matrix Graphite MGS 812-2 6 3/4' 1/8-3/8 oz. Lure 4-10 lb. line" No serial number. I've never seen one in 15 years of collecting and could not find one on ebay. And precious little information on the internet other than the Matrix rods came out in 1985(wish I had a 1985 Fenwick catalog, it's not in my 83 or 87 catalogs or mentioned in the Fenwick book) and were a blend of graphite and fiberglass for the strength of fiberglass and the lighter weight of graphite. Vintage Fenwick FF84 Feralite Fly Fishing Rod - Serial Nr. G 113485 - Very Nice
You are bidding on a very nice Vintage Fenwick FF84 Feralite Fly Fishing Rod With Its Original Rod Sock and Metal Rod Tube. This is a very early model– 1967- of these beautiful old rods as evidenced by the serial number G 113485. It is a 2 piece rod measuring 8 ½’ in length. It weighs 4 oz. and is rated for AFTMA Fly Line No. 5– 6. This is a truly original rod that appears to have been used. Put in the rod tube and left there for a number of years. The cork handle is stained from use but is intact and could be easily cleaned. The reel seat is clean and is stamped with the Fenwick Eagle. The guides are original and wrapped in a chocolate brown colored wrapping with white borders. The Feralite Ferrule shows no damage and is still tight. The rod sock is still in very good condition. The metal rod tube is in good condition but is missing ... morethe metal screw cap. This is a good example of these well made rods that can still fished as well as most modern rods. Made in the USA this rod has a serial number of D 43799 indicating it was made in or around 1964. This is a 4 piece rod measuring 7’ in length and weighing 3 ¾ oz. The rod is in original condition except for the cork handle that looks like it was cleaned with fine sandpaper. The wrappings are chocolate brown with white trim and are in good condition. The guides are original and are also in good condition. The Feralite Ferrules are all intact and fit together well. The fly rod reel seat has a little rash but no dents or scratches. The 2 locking seats on the cork handle for a spinning rod are in very good condition. The rod sock has been repaired but I would rate it from fair to good and the tube is missing ... moreone of the ends. This is a very nice example of these old. Fenwick two piece 8' fiberglass fly rod custom built from Fenwick blank FL 96-6 F. Line size 6. The rod is in nearly new condition, just minor paint wear on the reel seat and the label is lifting slightly. Any questions just let me know. Up for sale is a vintage Fenwick FF806 fly rod that is 8' long and rated for 6wt line. The rod is in good condition with minor surface scratches on the blank.
