Antique vintage Ocean City # 78 fly fishing reel with line made in USA good cond
This is a Vintage Ocean City fly fishing reel. Model is# 78. These were made in the USA in Philidelphia. The reel in in decent shape, the back was green and lot of that is worn off from age and as can be seen, also there is wear due to age elsewhere. The reel seems to operate perfectly,he drag works as it should and there did not appear to be a clicker mechanism on this style reel although I know nothing about them. Point is I see nothing missing and all works as it should far as I can tell. The reel was well cared for but has not been used for a long time and could use a cleaning. I am not sure what size the line is but it looks to be in good shape also.

I found this pure Japan silk fly fishing line at a a recent estate sale in Westfield. NJ. It was in a big fishing tackle box loaded with vintage lures and such dating back to the 1930s. His New Hampshire fishing license badge was still in the box. It looks like it is in very good shape to be so old. The tag reads from the top: Newton Line Co. Homer.
