Red Automatic Mohawk fly fishing reel made in the U.S.A. The housing on the wind-up side is red enamel. The rest of the reel is made of aluminium. This is a vintage piece in working order. There are places where the red has worn and there is wear and scratches on the aluminium portions. This was purchased from a local estate and we have not cleaned or done anything to the reel. It does have fly line on it. All parts do work and it clicks properly when you pull the line out and the automatic winder does wind the line in. I have noticed that the spring will release after a five or six turns not allowing you to wind it as tight as it should be. This probably needs some adjustment ... moreor attention. Classic Montague Rapidan 9' Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod 3/2
This is an interesting rod. All sections are straight and the proper length. The Montague Rapidan decal is about 50% This has a wood spacer on the downlocking slide band reel seat. Not typical of Rapidans. The guides and tip tops are all new,nicely wrapped in gold with black tipping. The stripper guide has an artificial agate insert. The tip tops are two different styles. The male ferrules show considerable wear and are not particularly tight The varnish is very good, obviously redone when the guides were replaced. Overall this rod is very good cosmetically, should fish well with some slight adjustment to the ferrules. Comes with a non-original cloth bag.

Dave Whitlocks Fly Fishing Gear Bag
This is a travel bag that Dave worked with me on to build for a company that he used to work for.This was at least 20 years ago. This may be the only one in existance. I do not know for sure. At any rate it never got off the ground and I am selling it. Here is how it is set up. The waders and boots fit in one section that have heavy duty mesh flaps that zipper up to secure them. The mesh lets the contents dry out and breathe.The next compartment holds 4 piece rods. I feel you can get at least 6 in there and maybe 8 if the tubes are small diameter. Than there are two padded pockets for reels and fly boxes. I am guessing 6 fly boxes or six reels in one pocket. the other pocket could hold cameras or maybe a vest. I think Dave was going to use it to carry his fly tying stuff in. The whole bag has a set of 4 sinching starps to secure the whole ... moreoutfit. Lot of 4 Bass Pro Shops Classic fly fishing rod cases. They measure approximately 30" long with a 2.5" diameter. They show some wear from use. I tested the zippers and all work smoothly. One of them is quite faded(see photos) I believe that these were part of a package sold with a rod and when the rod broke. The customer returned the rod and the case. Just my best guess. The cork is soiled but not damaged. The rod has some wear on the ferrules and 2 scratches on the 2nd section as shown in the pictures. Direct from My Grandfather's ancient tackle box here is a very nice assortment of Fly fishing flies and 2 reels. There are right around 50 flies. Now. I don't know anything about the diferent kinds of flies, or if he made these himself or bought them, but they're all tiny and different. They come in an old small film cannister. You also get 2 reels. They both have line in them, but I can't vouch for if they work or not, though I don't think he would have kept them if they didn't work. The blue one is a Martin, automatic Mohawk 8A, the slightly rusty metal colored one is a Pflueger( No. 775 with a bulldog ingrained on it.

Some numbers for you: Measuring seam to seam. Bottom of armpit, to other armpit bottom, 22" Measuring top to bottom. Its just about 23" crossing over centered black cortland label, from top of back of neck, down to back of waist. According to another Ebay ad for same Cortland item. W/ same measurements, this item is indeed size: men's XL. The live bug container was attached by previous angler(dad) and is easily removable. But, consider that i t is a great effect for passers by- a dangling bug-sample container shows everyone that you are an expert angler and naturalist. Condition: It really looks good.
