New Antique Eagle Claw Belt & Used Columbia Mesh Vest for Fly Fishing
Up for grabs are two fishing itmes that I have had for over many years. The Eagle Claw Fly Fishing black canvas and web tackle belt. Which I received as a gift and never used, is about 24" wide by 5 1/2" high attached to a 16" long X 1 1/2" web belt. This tackle belt has 1 main tackle box pocket(about 11" x 5"x 5 1/2" and four additional smaller pockets for gear. The centrally located pocket has the words Eagle Claw embroidered on it with gold thread. It has two velcro loops on the zippered top cover and a ring beside it to secure a rod, or a net, etc. One other smaller pocket has a zipper and the rest use velcro for closure. This is a nice item that I could not find anywhere on the net. The Columbia"Mosquito Net" vest has two zippered pockets, 4 velcro closure pockets, and two rings for attaching ... moregear. Both items have what appeas to be"Sheep's wool" patches to hold flies. I used this item a few times to keep the mosquitoes off my back. I have no idea what these are worth. Here is a hand weaved split ash fishing creel made by a Micmac Indian in Northern Maine over 18 years ago. Doesn't look it does it! It measures 11" x 5" x 7 1/2" And FREE Shipping is included in this sale. I have never used it from the time it was made for me and signed it. I used to cut brown ash on the farm and he would drive up and load the eight foot sections in his wagon and head off to work on the Ash. As you can tell from the pictures. There is no breaks, cracks. It is still as tight weaved as the day he made the creel. The Maliseet. Micmac, Passamaquoddy and Penobscot Indians have passed down the art and the tradition of basket weaving from one generation to the next. Up for auction is a vintage Montague Redwing 9 foot 4 inch fly rod from the 50s or early 60s. It is in a canvas case that has a tear in it about 2 1/2 inches long and 3/4 inch wide. The pole comes in 3 pieces with an extra 3rd piece as shown in pictures 1.5,6, and 7. I know nothing about fishing poles so I took this one to a sporting goods store and was advised that it is a very old pole in very good condition. There is nothing broken on the pole and all of the parts are there. The adjustment screw for the drag(whatever that is) is missing on the reel. He said that many of these poles were produced in the 50s and 60s and they aren't particularly rare, except this one, although its been used,is in great condition. He also said that many times the tips break off the pole.
