Vintage Barney&Berry Fly Reel by Winchester Firearms 1924-1930 unknown Model# functionally intact I had little success chasing down this reel on the net; but from what I gathered. Was made between 1924 and 1930 by Winchester Firearms. With the probable exception of the hand crank'knob' it seems to be all original and genuine. All I did was brush it lightly with a soft bristle paint brush to clean it of some dust and light grime. Photos 1& 2 show both sides of the body while Photo 3 displays the mfr stamp. The only other identifying stamp would be a'50' on the bottom of the foot(Photo 8) And Photos 4& 5 are a bottom view and top view. While Photo 6 shows the waxy/greasy spindle with some braided nylon line still attached. And Photo 8 shows the problematic crank'knob' Which looks to be small dia. copper pipe ... morewith a sec uring screw. It does spin freely and smoothly however. Photo 9 is the worn area of the foot where the clamp secured the reel to a rod. And Photo 10 simply shows the worn paint and. Hopefully, the still sound metal of the body. Overall. I'd say this is a'restoration' piece if someone has the essential knob parts and'as-new' paints. For this reason, I refrained from touching it beyond brushing it down. It weighs 4 1/2 oz. Used spool for bronze color LL Bean Double L fly reel. Mechanically the spool is in very good condition. There are some cosmetic marks(see pictures) including a couple of small blemishes on the rim. An'E' shaped mark on the outer and and an'x' mark on the back that cannot be seen when in use. This item was made for LL Bean by STH of Argentina. Spool diameter is 3 3/4" and is 3/4" wide. I think this fits the size 8 reel. But check your frame before bidding. Machined from a single piece of aluminum-magneisium alloy. Bushings, pawls, gears are from naval bronze. This looks like the DIAMOND FLY REEL that was made in Japan. Most of the ones I have seen had a black finish. This is plated brass. There are no markings or numbers on the reel. Has the wood handle which is sloppy and spool has looseness. Click button is very light and probably due the the looseness of the spool. Has all its plating. Has found and needs a very light cleaning of old dust and dirt. A nice collectible reel.

Kalamazzo Tackle Company DUKE#1680 fly fishing reel- CANE Bamboo made in USA Kalamazoo Duke No1680 Fly Reel This blue colored vintage Kalamazoo Tackle Comany#1680 fly reel looks very similar to a small Sakeseapeare Russell 1895 single action fly reel. The Duke has a knurled screw knob to release the spool and marbleized plastic crank handle. The condition of the reel is good considering its age. This reel did not sit on a shelf- it has seen use- as there are scratches and some paint loss. From the spool photos. You might see some older line treatment residue, and looking at the innards, you'll see that the pawl has very little wear. The clicker engages smoothly and sounds strong. I would grade this mechanically 9/10 and cosmetically a 7/10. The reel measures 3" diameter by 1 3/16" wide and weighs in at 4.6 ounces.

The older Sage 506 Fly Reel& Spare Spool being auctioned here are in fair used-condition ... moregiven their obvious age. Well-cared for by its previous owner but no doubt intensively fished, this 6/7wt set subsequently displays the signs of cosmetic wear and tear one would naturally expect in a piece that's been avidly employed. As evidenced in the photos. There are some moderate scratches, scrapes and"rock rash" to be aware of around the reel's rimmed edges and periphery. While the engraved reel face remains largely free from any major dents, dings or bruising, do please note that the center black spindle cap is missing. As is often the case with these popular vintage reels. Lost while fishing many seasons ago, there is some light rust that has subsequently started forming around the hex-nut lug(please see pics) Though no longer bright and shiny like it once was new. The machined aluminum reel foot remains straight and tight, and despite some modest scratching, no excessive wear or tear was noted. Orvis CFO 123 Fly Reel Plus Two Spare Spools
This is the smallest reel made by Orvis at the time. It is perfectly balanced with 1.2, or 3 wt rods. It was made by Hardy in England. I am offering two extra spools for a total of three. One is filled with a double taper one wt(no backing) and another with wf 2 wt for windier days(no backing) The third is filled with backing and a 3 wt wf line. Antique Chas Farlow Fly Rod Reuben Heaton Ebonite Reel 4 Pc Screw on Weight Ash
This antique Chas Farlow fly rod came from an auction in Vermont. It is a 4 piece rod. The brass butt is marked Chas Farlow Maker 191 Strand London Prize Medal. It was made between 1852 and 1884. Together the rod measures 10 feet. 10 inches. The reel is made of ash with drop ring brass ferrules. The reel does not have a maker's mark. I believe it to be a Reuben Heaton ebonite, but am not sure. It has a weigh that screws into the base. Any information on what this weight is used for would be greatly appreciated. It is in very good conditon, especially considering that it is at leat 129 years old. The bag has marks, stains. There are some wear marks on the reel and light wear on the rod.

This particular one is one of the older reels that were made in England for Orvis. With the adjustable drag switch on the rear plate that works as it should when turned. One can change the direction of the spool drive on this exposed rim reel by flipping the cam on the inside to move the pressure onto the other spring. This IV model can handle a WFF 6 line, and it has a double-sided nickel silver two-screw line guard and an aluminum full-length foot. This reel is one of the pioneering big-game fly reels. If you consider yourself a serious collector of vintage big game fly reels you need this Valentine Reel. This reel represents an important chapter in saltwater flyfishing history Possibly you have not even HEARD of Valentine or Valentine Reels. Unfortunately for VAL-CRAFT. This reel had three problems in the marketplace. First, it was probably too expensive- it compared in price to the FinNor"Wedding Cake" reel favored by the early pioneers of big-game saltwater fly fishing.
