Up for bid is an excellent. Slightly used, Ross Evolution 3, black, for 5- 7 wt. lines. My records indicate I purchased this new in January. 2011. This is a great reel- I used it as a spare reel and it was only used a few times- I'm guessing about five times. Note this is"not" the LT) This reel has some very minor blemishes on it(see photos)But it functions perfectly. Photo 4 is a good example- I have highlighted some minor"dings" on the drag-side side-plate. But they don't photograph well. Bauer MSL 4 Fly reel /Bronze spool with warranty
This 3 3/4" MSL 4 has seen very little use and is in excellent overall condition. There is a little bit of river rash an the bottom of the frame and a spot on the outer rim of the spool as well as a tiny bit of wear on the ends of the reel foot. These conditions are shown in images 5-8 and in no way interfere with the reels function. Set up for left hand wind. Reel has approximately 150 yds. of 20# micron backing and will hold 7 to 8 wt. floating lines. The MSL's are great reels that are getting harder to find new. The reel is machined from bar stock aluminum and deep anodized, with a Rulon disc drag. It is a standard arbor reel, with a 2 7/8 in. diameter, a weight of 4.8 oz. and is rated for 5 and 6 weight lines(capacity, as listed in their 2001 catalog when the reel was first introduced, is 55 yards of backing with a WF5F and 45 yds. with a WF6F) The reel is in pretty good condition. It works as it should. There are some marks to the finish. Notably a scuffed area on the spool rim. The reel has backing and a WF5F line of unknown make. The line shows some coil memory retention, but otherwise looks okay. I'll let you decide for yourself whether you want to use it or not. Mint Islander FR-1 fly reel in gold finish. I am listing it as used. Since I bought it used, but can't find a mark on it. Haven't got around to using it so off it goes. Great for 5-7 weight rods. Saltwater, salmon, steelhead. Similar in size, and application of Tibor Freestone. Smallest reel in the series with a beefy cork drag to stop anything. RHW or LHW, easily converted. Islander has discontinued their FR series, the reels that put them on the map, so there aren't too many of these around. The sweet song they sing when a fish is on is wonderful. Up for bid is one Vintage JULIUS VOM HOFE Nickel Plated Brass Fly/Casting Reel with 4:1 Multiplier. This reel is engraved on the front metal plate with"JULIUS VOM HOFE. PAT. OCT. 8, 89" The spool. Pillars, body plates, and foot are nickel plated brass in fair to good condition. There is brass showing on about 20% of the face plates and foot. The handle knob appears to be hard rubber. There is a clicker controlled by a slide button on the rear plate and drag control from a hard rubber slide button on the front cover. It is in good working condition and good overall condition with the exception of some plating loss. This reel could be a casting reel. It measures 2" diameter. 3-3/16" deep including the handle, and has a foot measuring 2-7/16" long by 9/16" wide. On the bottom of the foot it is inscribed with the ... morenumber"5" It weighs 6.5 ounces, with packaging it will ship 12 ounces. Berkley 5 10 Vintage Fly Reel(Excellent Condition) Up for auction is a Berkley 510 Fly Reel in excellent condition. I personally bought this reel(amon gst others) at an estate sale and while this reel was said to be used. C osmetically this reel is in incredible condition and is amazing for it's age. I myse lf am not familiar with the drag system on fly reels and not sure if it is worn or perfectl y fine. The clicker is strong and loud. I can not warranty the mechanical condition of this reel since I am not the original owner and have never used this reel. You are bidd ing strictly on what you see b elow and as you can tell the reel looks in fab ulous condition. This would be a grea t collectible OR I'm sure could p robably be re-introduced into the field if desired. Up for auction a Very Nice and Seldom Offered CIRCA 1947-1950 LANGLEY NO.192-A DELUXE SINGLE ACTION FLY REEL WITH THE SCARCE ORIGINAL BOX. Fly reels from Langley don't seem to show up too often and I've never seen this particular model offered for sale. Built by the Langley Corp. of San Diego. CA, I believe this to be one of their earlier examples built sometime after WWII. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on the dates. Faceplate carries the early"LANGLEY San Diego, Calif. within a flying wing, while under the foot reads"Made In U.S.A. Patented" Reel has a spool diameter of 3-1/8" and is 1" wide. Constructed of aluminum and comes equipped with removeable spool, strong clicker in both directions and a machined metal grip. Reel is in Very Fine, lightly used condition. Displays quite nicely. Works perfectly ... moreand seems very smooth and balanced. Put up in the original box, which is correctly marked for the reel and also stamped"Patent Pending" It hasn't been near as lucky as the reel, showing overall staining and some paper loss, but it remains solid and complete. These boxes are seldom offered and should at least be considered somewhat scarce. Overall, a nice early combo from this maker. To be sold with a very modest starting bid and NO RESERVE. Buyer to pay $8.50 shipping via U.S. Priority Mail, with full insurance and tracking. Payment must be received within 7 days of auction closure.
