But identified as being manufactured by Terry Clock Company of Waterbury, Ct. through online articles identifying the patented foot design. On the bottom of the foot"PAT. NOV. 14. 1871" is inscribed. This patent date refers to the Terry Clock Co. patent No. 121,020, which covered the foot design and other features. The reel is constructed of nickel plated brass. It has a full time clicker. It is in good working condition. But the clicker is weak. It is in very good condition, appears lightly used, almost new in appearance, see photos) The handle has a wood knob in very good condition. Vintage Brass Crank Handle Fly Reel w/2.5:1 Multiplier, Stop Lever - Unmarked
Up for bid one Vintage Crank Handle Brass Trout/Fly Reel with 2.5:1 Multiplier and Stop lever- unmarked as to manufacturer. This reel is constructed of brass. There is a no clicker I believe. Although there is some noise which I attribute to the gears. It is in fair working condition. As the reel is operated it is not smooth, there is some drag that is not even. The handle has a ivory knob and a straight handle. There is one screw on the front plate(right side) that doesn't match the other screws and appears to be a replacement. The foot is a machined casting. Two things that I notice that seem unique is on the rear plate the pillars are ground flush with the plate, and a second item is on the front side of the spool there is a hole(see photos) It measures 1-3/4" diameter. 2-13/16" deep including the handle, and has a foot measuring ... more2-7/16" long by 9/16" wide. Up for bid is one Vintage ABBEY& IMBRIE Hard Rubber& Nickel Plated Brass Fly Reel with 2:1 Multiplier. This reel is engraved on the front hard rubber plate with"ABBEY& IMBRIE" But only IMBRIE is readable. This reel has a hard rubber front and rear body in poor to fair condition. There are chips on both the front and rear hard rubber plates inside adjacent to the spool edge. Plus a small crack next to the top pillar on the rear hard rubber plate. The spool, pillars, and foot are nickel plated brass. The spool is in very good condition. The pillars and foot are in poor to fair condition. The top pillar has a slight bow downward. The foot has numerous marks and dents indicating it was straightened. The handle knob appears to be hard rubber. There is a clicker controlled by a slide button on the rear plate. It is in good ... moreworking condition and fair overall condition with the exception of the chips noted in the hard rubber. Based on the foot having a center hole and the use of a spring type washer on the rear cap it is likely that Julius vom Hofe could be the manufacturer, as he did make reels for Abbey& Imbrie. Just speculation. It measures 1-3/4" diameter. 3-1/8" deep including the handle, and has a foot measuring 2-7/16" long by 9/16" wide. On the bottom of the foot it is inscribed with the number"206 c" With the letter c underlined. Between the two screws on the bottom of the front where the foot is attached there is inscribed"35" It weighs 4.9 ounces, with packaging it will ship at 10 ounces. 9 foot Cortland fly rod with a Okuma Integrity 1 7/8 reel and mountain cork case
Cortland all graphite GRF-1000. This rod is as smooth and accurate as ANY rod I have ever had my hands on. It is a slow action that would be closest to the Superfine by Orvis or the G series by Scott but in my opinion. Smoother and better casting than either one of them. This is a 6/7 weight rod. The rod comes complete with an Okuma integrity 1 7/8 reel with line. It also comes and an Okuma fly six compartment fly box with spring loaded glass lids on each compartment. This rod comes with its own Mountain Cork hard rod case with a compartment for your fly box, extra line or spare reel etc. Perfect shape with very little use. This whole outfit looks pretty new. Worthy of any bamboo rod past or present- fully functional and a thing of real beauty- this one is in superb shape with a wonderful wear on the patina. The reel is nice and tight- turns beautifully- shows very little wear on the inside as you can see from the pictures- the agate line guard shows no wear. Cracks or dents- if you collect Hardy's this reel should be in your collection. The pictures tell the story- this reel needs a good home.
