Adams of West Haven Ct. back in the late 80's, with shearling monogramed suede leather case, in absolute pristine condition~ never got wet ~ never went fishing ~ never saw a rod! It is one of the finest machined bar stock aluminum fly reels, with perforated bakelite side plates, 3" diameter, the spool 1" deep and 1" wide. The frame of the reel has three pillars, just like a Zwarg, Vom Hofe. The machining is so fine that there are no machine marks. It has a permanent adjustable click drag that is either left hand wind or right hand wind. There is a zonolite crank handle with counter-balancing weight and an"S" shaped handle, just like a Bogdan, or Walker, or Zwarg or Vom hofe. You are considering a vintage Pfleuger Medalist# 1495 fly reel. This reel isover 40 years old and it is still fully functional. There is a full load of backing and an old fly line on the spool but I don't consider either to be any good now. I left the line and backing on the reel for the collector to show if he or she desired. The picture shows a bad case of rash on the reel. This is not unusual for a Medalist of this age. The paint abrades off leaving the raw aluminum showing. The reel can be fished and the metal showing through will have no effect on operation. All I can say is: My significant other passed away a few years ago and I have finally decided to part with his fly fishing"stuff" I wish that I had paid more attention because I honestly can't say what most of this is- I'm hoping the pictures are detailed enough. According to the markings and what info I could find online this is a used J A Forbes Saltwater Disc Drag 8- 9- 10 with fishing line already on it- not sure what type of line. It does have a few scuff marks and could probably use a good cleaning- I tried to wipe it down but did not want to attempt to take it apart to clean(assuming you can do that! From reading online I'm also not sure about left or right hand but he was left handed if that helps. More listings to come! This Rod is 5'6" long and very old. I have had it for over twenty years as a wall display. I have tried to find the make. But no luck. It is a two piece bamboo construction. The reel has no markings on it to determine the manufacturer, however it is newer than the rod. This would provide someone else with a wall piece as it has for me. Vintage Marado 3 1/4" Gold Anodized salmon/trout fly reel NIB + pouch
You are bidding on a vintage gold anodized salmon/trout 3 1/4" fly reel made by the MERADO Mfg. Co. of Kent Washington. This reel, made of bar stock aluminum and gold anodized all over so that the reel can be used in salt water or fresh water. The reel is a Right Hand Wind, but can be set up for Left Hand Wind by reversing the spring gear as shown in the inside of the reel. It has the two screw drum release and a smooth foot. This reel is MINT- ~ that means that it never got wet. The spool width is 7/8" and is perforated with three rows of holes; the back has two rows of holes. It has a drag adjustment wheel on the reverse as shown on the third picture. The reel has a ball bearing drive system. The frame and spool is made from machined aluminum and then anodized in gold throughout(inside and outside) The spool has a counter ballanced ... moreweight, as shown on the first photograph. The crank handle is made from fine grained wood. The reel weighs 4.2 ounces and has a line capacity of DT7-8 or WF8-9. As noted. The wind can easily be changed from RHW to LHW. This is a nice Pflueger Hawkeye fly reel in the less common 100 yd size. There are no cracks or chips on the reel. And it shows only minor wear. This spool has been fitted to my older 2-screw line guard era LRH and it fits perfectly. As a result, there is a bit of grease on the teeth. Up for sale is a vintage 1960's Ted Williams Three Crown Fly Fishing Reel. It is model#312. 31140. It was sold by Sears Roebuck& Co. The reel comes in the original cream colored leather case. It does have some minor scratches on the back and on the metal piece that holds it onto the rod. This piece is in great overall condition. It comes with a second spool that can be swapped out. But identified as being manufactured by Terry Clock Company of Waterbury, Ct. through online articles identifying the patented foot design. This reel is constructed of brass. It has a full time clicker. It is in good working condition. The foot and clamp are riveted together, and the foot is riveted on the back plate and screwed on the front plate using a supporting block. It appears the foot would offer more support than just a clamp. It is in very good condition, appears lightly used, almost new in appearance, see photos) The reel is very well constructed with the pillars, end plates, handle and foot all being quite substantial for the size reel. The handle has a wood knob in very good condition. The Terry Clock Company made reels primarily ... morein the 1870s and 80s. It measures 1-13/16" diameter. 2-3/8" deep including the handle, has a foot measuring 2-5/8" long by 9/16" wide, and has a clamp approximately 1-1/8" diameter by 3/4" wide at the foot, tapering to 1/2" wide at the thumb screw. The thumb screw allows for only about 1/4" travel to tighten it to a pole. It weighs 3.9 ounces, with packaging it will ship at 9 ounces. Rare L.W. HOLMES bonefish and salmon fly fishing reel in BOX
This is a very unusual L.W. Holmes bonefish. Salmon and steelhead reel in near-mint condition, in the original box. Leslie W. Holmes made fly, salmon and a very few baitcasting and deep-sea reels in Oronoque, Conn. a village of Stratford, from after WWII until his death around 1952. These are very well made reels. This one has an on/off click and a drag that you can tighten by turning the knurled center knob. Unusual finish on this reel, too. This one has a spool that's 3 3/8" in diameter and 1" wide. Right-hand wind reel in excellent condition with clearly marked original box, as you can see in the photos. I doubt this reel has ever had a line on it. Fish it or collect it. Photo print. Louis F. Dow and print is 9.25"x8" Titled"Reel Action" Salesman sample print and looks like from the 1950's. All my prints are OLD and NOT reproductions. Print has light creases, otherwise good condition and good color. Most all my items are vintage and sold the way they are found. I try to check for damage to all items and never repair items. for sale here is a little leeda 3.5" reel. Its a cartridge reel and i think its a dragonfly 375 as indicated on the inner spool, left or right wind, rear tension, overall good used, mechanically excellent with good strong loud check, nice little user reel. anyway please look at the fotos, i dont have the time to send out individual dispatch emails but items are normally posted the day after being paid for, i will post anywhere, and please view my other many listings of vintage items this week.thanks for looking.and i do eventually get round to leaving feedback once they build up to about 300 i do them all at once. vintage JW young 1540 expert 1500 series wide drum salmon fly fishing reel 4.25"
for sale here is a very good 1540 built by jw youngs and from the 1500/expert series and being the 1.25" wide drum model. 4.25" 2 screw drum release, rim tension, twin checks, left or right wind, mechanically excellent and tight, good strong loud check, very little used.
