Cabelas Fish Eagle II 9'6" 9/10 weight Fly Rod for Stripers. Salmon, etc. I fished this rod for stripers back east and then for salmon and steelhead after I moved out west. It is a big, powerful rod that is easy to cast and throws a WF9 like a catapult. At one point I broke the hook keeper, so I removed that and put a nice trim wrap there. You can see this area well in the photos. If I didn't mention it, you might not even notice. The butt section has a some micro scratches you can see in the photos. It also has a couple minor scuffs. This is a vintage Browning Silaflex in nice shape. Model 222930. Line 6 or 7. The rod is 8ft long. There is also a number close to the base. Shown in last picture, that is 548189. There is a possibility that either the handle or the rest have been repaired. The reason i say this is because the main piece has a red color and the three pieces are gold and black. There are some very light surface scratches. From being layed down near the river's edge, but none penetrating the beautiful finish. Sage inscripted"Demo" on rod, just above the name rider(see first photo) as they do on all"school/class" rods. Comes with factory Sage rod tube and sock. I thought fly fishing was going to be my new hobbie. But as it turns out I didn't make time for it. I did make time to do a ton of research and ended up buying the best equipment money can buy. This entire set up has only seen the light of day once, and beside that it has been kept in an air conditioned closet. Everything in this listing is new or used only once. I need the money, so my loss is your gain. What you are bidding on is: Hatch 5 plus Monsoon Fly Reel(Silver and Green in color) I paid $500 dollars for it a year ago. 5 plus means it can be used for 5-7 weight line and rod. It comes fully loaded with 7 weight Sceintific angler weight forward line and is rigged up using the salt water fly fishing system shown on Danscustomflys.com most the the 20 flys that come with this set up where made by him as well. I payed $80 for the fly ... moreline/backer and had it profesionally rigged up. I had the fly rod custom made. It is 9' piece 7 weight custom made by Ed Mc Shea. I payed $180 dollars for it and I have a list of every part used on it and the blank itself is still under warantee. It comes with a custom made blue jean bag as well. It will be shipped in PVC tubing. The 20 flys are all different styles(which average out to be over $5.00 each) 16 of which are salt water flys and 4 are fresh water. Most the salt water flys are made my Dans custom flys and have stainless steel hooks and epoxy resin over the body of the fly so they are made to last. It also comes with some braided loops for attaching the leader onto the fly line and a 9 foot tappered leader still in the package. I figure with shipping I payed close to $950.00 for everything. And with this package you are getting everything and it is fully rigged up and ready to go.
